Moving On

At the Slaters, Lynne hides the post because it contains Birthday cards for Charlie.  Little Mo also gets a card.

When Charlie leaves to visit Peggy, the family discuss the surprise party.  Peggy has quoted 100 for the food.  "A ton?" exclaims Mo.  "I can hire Jamie Oliver for that!"

"Ooh," Kat licks her lips.  "I wouldn't mind eating my way through him."

Mo decides to do the catering herself.

Lynne watches Little Mo open her card, and after watching her reaction, decides to read it.  'Mo, I was only trying to help, love Billy'

At the Vic, Charlie tries to help Peggy decide what to do about the pub.  He suggests she get a mortgage.

Billy goes to visit Little mo to apologise, and Lynne overhears. Lynne asks Billy to leave and Little Mo tells her what's been going on and she breaks down and blames herself.

Mo buys some dodgy food from Clive and Trace for the party.

Later, Billy find Little Mo in the square.  "He done wrong Mo," he tells her.  "Don't ever blame yourself for what he did."   Then he adds, "Why don't you go home?"

"I don't know where home is anymore," Little Mo replies.

That evening Peggy takes Charlie out to dinner.  They discuss their loneliness without their partners.  Peggy decides to put the past behind her and move on.

Little Mo returns to Number 23.  "I've come home," she says and Lynne gives her a sisterly hug.

Thursday 3rd May

When Harry met Peggy

It's Charlie Slater's 60th birthday and he is acting like he doesn't know about the surprise party.  It is also Billy's birthday, and he thinks the party is for him.

Zoe tells Little Mo that Billy has been asking after her, which embarrasses her.

Charlie tells Big Mo that he Misses Viv and, and he tells her that he's lonely.  "What if I don't want to grow old alone?" he asks her.

Little Mo buys Billy a fish for his birthday after Lynne reminds her.

Paul has his eye on Zoe.  "Zoe's a sort," he tells his brother.  "Better than that slapper of a sister."  Kat overhears this.

Harry arrives and Mo is pleased to see him.  "How is my favourite battle-axe?" he asks her.  "Still keeping my brother under your thumb I hope."

Mo introduces Harry to Peggy.  "You'd better warn your your landlord that I'm always in the market to poach gorgeous barmaids," he says to her.

"Watch it cheeky," she smiles back.  "I am the landlord."

"Well Charlie's definitely fallen on his feet.  A decent looking pub and an angel behind the bar."

"You ain't changed," Mo tells him.  "Still full of yourself."

"He's full of something," Peggy pipes in.

Party!

At the pub, Charlie is surprised to see Harry and his party starts.  "I flew in this afternoon," Harry tells him.  "And you know me, I head straight to the boozer."

"Sounds like a Slater," Charlie says.  "I haven't seen him for three years and the first thing he does is fill his boots."

"No offence Chaz," Harry adds.  "But the company here is better looking."

Billy makes a fool of himself as by thinking that the party is for him and bursting into the pub singing.  Garry tells him, "I don't think anyone noticed."

Paul puts some vodka in Zoe's drink.  He is trying to get her drunk.

Peggy tells Charlie that she is going to sell the Vic and divorce Frank.

Little Mo convinces Billy to  stay at the party,  "I'm sorry I've been so horrible to you lately," she apologises.

Harry starts to chat Peggy up, whilst Mo gives Charlie her blessing to go out with Peggy.

Paul continues to try and get Zoe drunk.  Kat watches and can't stand seeing it.  She drags Zoe outside where they have a blazing row.   {clip}

Trevor turns up to take Little Mo home but Billy steps in to protect her.  "Don't hurt him," Little Mo calls.  "If you hurt him, you're as bad as he is."

Trevor tries to get Little Mo to go home with him, instead she asks him for a divorce  {clip}.  As he attacks her with verbal and mental bullying, she smacks him in the mouth.

Charlie overhears Harry chatting Peggy up and asking her for a date.  He is too late!

Monday 7th May

Dates

Harry takes Peggy out for dinner, whilst Charlie watches jealously.  Even  Big Mo tries to help- telling him he has to be more forward with her, and they try to role play in the Vic.  In the end, Mo just gives up.

Harry asks Natalie how much the Vic is being sold for.

Little Mo goes out with Billy to the E20, but she keeps mentioning Trevor.  When Billy invites her back for coffee, she gets defensive and goes back home.

Tuesday 8th  May

Darts

Harry takes Peggy out again, but gets a warning from Phil on his return.  Garry, Kat and Jamie win the next darts match which means they could be on the way to Brighton.  Zoe told Kat hat she only flirted with Paul to wind her up, and she was interested in someone else.

Thursday 10th May

Lynne gets to go!

Little Mo agrees to look after the Cafe for Lynne, because she wants to go to Brighton with Kat, Garry and Zoe.  Lynne reminisces about Brighton, as it is where she and Garry met.  Harry advises Peggy to sell the Vic quickly.

Monday 14th May

Off to Brighton

Garry drives Lynne, Kat , Robbie, Sonia, Zoe and Jamie to Brighton.  Robbie heads off to Portsmouth with Sonia to find his real dad which leaves Jamie with Zoe.  "If I didn't know who my dad was, I'd want to find out," comments Zoe, and Kat looks away guiltily.

Lynne wants to head for 'Banjo Groin', the jetty where she and Garry first had sex, but Garry says he needs to visit his mum.  He convinces Jamie to fake a phone call from his mum and Garry heads off to meet an ex-girlfriend, leaving Lynne alone.

Kat can tell that Zoe fancies Jamie and they have a girlie chat together.

"I was a teenager once myself you know.  Always trying to be something you're not, right.  Looking at other girls and thinking why can't I be like them? More confident. More experienced.  Am I  getting warm?"  Kat sits beside Zoe.  "You know, you're not the only 17-year old virgin."

"Who says I'm still a virgin?"

"Are you saying that  you're not?" Zoe's face can't hide the truth.  "It's alright.  honestly."

"I wish mum was still alive."

"Why?"

"Because that's what mums do isn't it." Zoe replies.  "They help you out with things like this."

"You've got me."  Kat offers.

"What was your first time like?" Zoe asks her.

"You don't want to know, believe me," Kat replies.  "That's why I'm saying take your time.  Make sure you like him, no matter who he turns out to be."

"You know who I really want to be like?"

"No? Who?"

"You!"

"No you wouldn't Zo.  You've got to trust me on this one,"  Kat answers.

Garry goes to meet Theresa Lawless, his old girlfriend.  "Hello Brown eyes," he says to her.  He is still hankering after the past and the relationship he never had with her, after she dumped him 14 years ago.  But she is not interested.  "That's what all this is about.  Hob-Nob wants to get laid!"

Zoe spends the day with Jamie

Lynne spends the day waiting for Garry.  "I wish I was you," she says to Kat.

"Why does everyone want to be me all of a sudden?" Kat laughs.

Lynne tries calling Garry at his mums, but she tells her that Garry hasn't been there at all.

Engaged

That evening, Lynne decides to dump Garry and Kat is pleased.  Lynne heads for 'Banjo Groin' and reminisces about the past.  When Garry turns up, Kat tells him that Lynne has gone.  He goes to find her.

The darts team lose their match.

Garry finds Lynne at the jetty.  "I knew you' be here.  I remember everything.  12th August 1995.  I remember every little detail."

"You're wasting your time Garry."

"Kat says you were going to dump me."

"Were?  Have!  It's over Garry."

"Don't be daft," Lynne starts to walk away.  "Where are you going?" Garry calls after her.

"Back to the hotel.  You've got the room to yourself.  I'll be sharing with Kat and Zoe from now on."

"Don't go!" Garry pleads.  "Look I know I'm a sad case, but if I lose you, I ain't got nothing!"

Garry then proposes and Lynne accepts.

"You idiot!" is Kat's reaction.

Tuesday 15th May

Flirting

Kat is woken up on the doorstep of her hotel by Ricardo, a bakery delivery man and they start flirting.

Kat is not speaking to Lynne, after she announced her engagement to Garry.

Robbie and Sonia head of to Portsmouth again, leaving Jamie alone with Zoe again.

Kat plays hard to get with Ricardo, until she sees his brand new Aston Martin.

Garry reluctantly buys Lynne an engagement ring.

Jamie admits that he fancies Zoe and is struggling being with her, even though they spend the day together on the pier.

At lunch, Ricardo asks Kat if she is broad-minded.  "Well I'm a broad and I've got a mind, does that count?"  He then invites her to a party that night.

Sonia tells Jamie that she'll be staying in Portsmouth that night.

Three-some

Ricardo takes Kat to his very chic apartment.  They dance together and Kat is looking forward to a cosy night in together, until his wife appears.  "Hi I'm Amanda," she says, all dressed in leather.  "You must be Kat.  Ricci has told me all about you.  It's always nice to have someone new at one of our parties."

"Do you live here?" Kat asks, shocked.

"Yes.  Just been getting changed."

"And there's no-one else coming?"

"Just the three of us."

"Surprise, surprise," Ricardo says, grabbing his wife playfully.

"No you've got me all wrong," Kat tells them.

"There's nothing to worry about," Ricardo says.  "It's all very civilised- when it's not wild that is."

"No thanks"

"Ricci says you were broad-minded," Amanda tells her.

Kat is disgusted and walks out, and she overhears Ricardo talk to his wife.  "She was a washed up old slag in a hotel doorway.  She said she was up for it I swear."

Jamie gives in to his feelings and spends the night with Zoe.

Thursday 17th May

Mistakes

Garry has a bad dream - he sees Lynne in a wedding dress.

Ricardo sees Zoe and tries to flirt with her, but she is more interested in finding out why Jamie left her last night.

Kat steals Ricardo's house keys from his van, before they bump into each other.

"Well if it isn't Prince Charming"

"Oh dear.  I sense a tantrum coming on."

"No.  I wouldn't give you the satisfaction."

"No," replies Ricardo.  "I doubt you would!"

Zoe confronts Jamie.  "Don't say it was a mistake," she says to him.  "I want to remember it how it happened."

But Jamie is feeling guilty about Sonia.  "It's amazing how men fall out of love the minute they fall out of bed," Zoe says, annoyed.

Revenge

Kat tells Lynne about her night.

"I'm not saying what he did was right," Lynne argues.

"But you're saying that I asked for it."  Kat says.

"Look.  If you want to spend the rest of your life dressing like a 19-year old and jumping from one bed to another then fine, but don't come running t me when you get hurt!"

"No?" Kat asks.  "Then where do I go?" she stops and Lynne gives her a sisterly hug.

Kat then goes to spend some time with Zoe.  They go over to Ricardo's house and trash it.  They hide prawns in the furniture, rip his clothes, throw his remote controls in the pool, wreck his music collection and Kat leaves a calling card in lipstick on his window.

Monday 21st May

New starts

Billy asks Little Mo out for a drink just as friends.  "I know the score," he reassures her.

Charlie goes to see Peggy as she packs up at the Vic, but she is having trouble letting go of the memories.  "It's just bricks and mortar," Charlie tells her.  "It's Peggy Mitchell that makes the place, and you're taking her with you."

Jamie apologises to Zoe for his behaviour in Brighton.

In the pub, Lynne shows off her engagement ring.  Billy tries to get close to Little Mo, but she is still fixated on Trevor.

Harry announces that he is considering moving back to England.

Tuesday 22nd May

Billy gets violent

In the pub, Little Mo feels responsible for Peggy moving out.  If only she hadn't handed over Frank's letter...

Charlie delivers some flowers to Little Mo, and he assumes they are from Billy.  "Who's grave did you steal them from?" he asks.

Little Mo tells Billy that they are from Trevor.  He gets angry and smashes the vase on the floor.  "If he comes near you again, he'll have to answer to me," Billy threatens.  "I'll kill him."  Little mo is shocked by his reaction.

Later Billy apologises to her for losing his temper.

Thursday 24th

Sharon's back

Lynne and Kat go to look at wedding dresses.

Charlie invites Peggy to the Vic with the family to welcome the new owner.  Harry also invites Peggy and informs her that the rumor is that Steve has bought the pub.  Peggy is stunned when she realises that Sharon Mitchell / Watts is back behind the bar!

Monday 28th May

Peggy's reaction

Charlie and Harry are surprised at Peggy's reaction to Sharon.  "Who is she?" asks Charlie.

"Who is she?  Sharon Watts! The  two-faced, jumped up little slut that ruined my family.  That's what!"

Charlie comforts Peggy and invites her for tea.

In the cafe, Lynne is discussing  weddings with Zoe, until Jamie walks in.  Zoe is uncomfortable and Jamie invites her out for a drink as friends.  Zoe agrees.

Harry invites himself for tea with Little Mo.  "the more the merrier," Charlie sighs.

Zoe goes to meet Jamie at the pub, but he tells her he is expecting Sonia.  "I'm not going to be the other woman," warns Zoe.

Lynne and Kat are discussing weddings.  "This white wedding lark.  You're not exactly the virgin bride are you?" Kat says and continues saying, "I don't even know why you want to go near the idea, especially after last time."

"You spiteful little cow," Lynne screams and storms out of The Vic.

Jason and Lynne

Back at No 23 Zoe returns with Kat and Lynne arguing behind.

"What's going on out there?" Charlie asks.

"Lynne and Kat had an argument over Garry, well Jason actually." Zoe explains.

"Him?" Little Mo asks surprised.  "Who mentioned him?"

"Kat," Charlie says.  "She just can't help herself."

Harry explains the situation to a confused Peggy.  "Lynne's boyfriend Jason.  He never turned up for the church - did a runner.  Three weeks later she gets a postcard from Tenerife- he'd run off with the florist."

"He'd used the flights for the honeymoon which I paid for," Charlie adds.

"It broke her heart," Harry comments

"I'll break his legs if I ever see him again," Charlie threatens.

Trying

After tea, Harry walks Peggy home, while Charlie drowns his sorrows in a glass of wine.  Lynne and Kat are still fighting and Little Mo says that Charlie ought to sort them out.  "I just wish you girls could make yourselves happy.  Decide what you want to do with your lives and get on with it."

"I tried that dad," Little Mo replies.  "And Lynne tried with Jason and is still trying with Garry.  And Kat- She'll try with anything she can get her hands on.  We are trying dad."

"I know," says Charlie resigned.  "It's just we're not very good at it."

Tuesday 29th May

Harry's plan

In the cafe, Jim is discussing hard work with Barry and Natalie.  Lynne laughs, "The last time you broke into a sweat, they were still lighting gas-lamps."

Zoe enters but sees Jamie with Sonia.  "Come for a chat with your boyfriends girlfriend?" asks Lynne.

"He's not my boyfriend," Zoe says defensively.

In the square, Harry is discussing Peggy with Charlie and Kat.  "She should be looking to the future, building a new business, starting a new life."

"Anywhere in particular in mind?" Kat asks.

I had hoped Minorca."

"Are you serious?" asks Charlie.

"Yeah.  Why not?" Harry replies.  "Look at it this way, with my dough and hers, we could be living under a rainbow.  There's nothing to keep her here is there?"

"No, I suppose not," Charlie sighs.

Chicken fun

Zoe is confused at the signals Jamie is giving out and they end up holding hands in the pub.  Jim sees them.

Kat tells Charlie that he should let Harry know about his feelings for Peggy, before he whisks her away from under his nose.

Barry's new job involves dressing up as a large chicken and handing out leaflets.  Charlie watches him knocking into people and things, but he doesn't know it's Barry.  Later in the cafe, he sees Barry knock into Lynne which makes Charlie laugh.  "That reminds me.  I saw this woman who got her shopping knocked over by a chicken.  The things that some people have to do!"

Thursday 31st May

Adios Harry

Charlie nearly runs Barry, who is still dressed as a chicken, over in his cab.  "I've got better things to do than scrape giblets off the front of my cab," he shouts.  "Now watch where you're walking."

Big Mo drags Little Mo to see Sharon about her job, as she is too nervous.

Harry tries to convince Peggy to go to Minorca with him.  Peggy tells him that she didn't think he was serious, which embarrassed him.  Harry leaves and heads for the station, and phones her from the airport to tell her he is going home.
