At the garage Garry arrives for work, but Jamie is no-where to be seen. Garry is in the cafe, when Jamie catches up with him. He overhears Janine telling Terry that they need a builder to mend the ceiling in Barry's new flat. "I can turn my hand to anything," Garry offers. "As long as the price is right." In the pub, Kat is chatting to Tony "So why did you become a doctor then?" She asks him "Just interested in the human body I suppose?" he replies. "You don't have to tell me," Kat smiles. Peggy is unimpressed at Kat's lack of work ethic. "I've been run off my feet all day," Kat tells her. later on, Kat has hassle from an amorous customer. When Peggy forces her to apologise to the customer, she grabs a fire extinguisher and sprays the man. "I'm very sorry," she says sarcastically.
Peggy then offers the bar managers job to Barry. "Your first job is to sack her," she tells him, pointing to Kat, which he does! Tuesday 3rd April
In the Square, Barry is swanning around smugly now that he has been made bar manager. The first thing he does is complain about Zoe's fruits. "I couldn't help but notice last night that one or two of our lemons were a little bit past their best," he tells her. "Like the rest of the pub, you mean," replies Zoe. "And the people who work there now." In the cafe, Jamie tells Garry that he needn't open up the garage. Dan enters and demands a free breakfast, Lynne asks Jamie to confirm if this was alright and Jamie says , "it's fine". "Well Phil doesn't usually give things away for free," she says. Janine asks Garry to do some work on Barry's flat. Lynne watches suspiciously, but Garry tells her it's just business. "Well, let's just hope it wasn't any sort of funny business," Lynne threatens, brandishing a vegetable peeler. " 'Cos it will be more than just carrots I'll be peeling around here. Understand?!"
Kat is still upset about being fired from the pub. "I wouldn't work for that witch again, even if she paid me in gold bars." In the square, Kat tells Mo that she ha been sacked and Mo goes to sort it out with Peggy. "Ever heard of an industrial tribunal?" Mo asks "Eh?" Peggy says. "Because if you're not careful, that's where you're gonna end up. I think it's called victimisation." "What is?" "The way you've been picking on this poor cow!" Mo says, referring to Kat. "You trying to be funny?" "I don't see anybody laughing, do you?" "Well. The bloke she soaked with a fire extinguisher, he didn't have a smile on his face either." "I didn't soak him," Kat adds. "No. I don't suppose she mentioned that, did she," Peggy conitinues. "Not that she'd have been around here for much longer anyway." "What's that supposed to mean?" Mo argues. "Well, she's useless," Peggy states. "No tell a lie, there's got to be one thing she's good at, or else why would a doctor take her out?" she laughs. "You cheeky cow!" Kat yells. "I'll have you know my granddaughter's good enough for anybody!" Mo adds. "Now you really are joking." "You're gonna be sorry you said that!" "Is that right?" "I tell you what. I ain't half gonna enjoy this. It's about time someone wiped that grin off your face," Mo shouts. Barry tries to intervene, but as Mo swings for Peggy, Peggy ducks and Barry gets whacked! "Welcome to the pub game Barry," Peggy tells him, as the Slaters leave.
Later on in the cafe, Kat meets Anthony. She is expecting him to have a go at her, but he doesn't know she lost her job. When Kat tells him about the fir extinguisher incident, they both laugh and amidst the laughter, Anthony confesses, "I do love you." Kat is stunned! Thursday 5th April

Anthony offers to pick Kat up at 7pm, but after the family interferes, she freaks out. Lynne confronts her about her commitment fears. "You'll have to risk getting hurt one day," she tells her. At 7, Anthony turns up with a bunch of flowers and Kat is looking stunning. Only she has decided to go out with some of her female friends, leaving Anthony stunned.

In the pub, Kat complains about Barry's bar technique. "He's slower than treacle," she calls. She then helps herself to one of the free nibbles on the bar. "Eurgh. These grapes are a bit sour," she says "That's because they're olives," Barry replies. "Well you'd better give them back to her then," Kat adds. Garry is feeling jealous that Beppe has helped Lynne out and insists on checking the boiler over. "It's alright," he says, after tinkering for a while. "I've made it safe now."
Thursday 12th April

When Beppe's car breaks down, he asks Garry for help. When Garry reminds him that Lynne's spoken for, Beppe tells him that she's not his type. They arrange to go out for a drink later. Zoe apologises to Anthony for Kat's behaviour and tells him that she will be in the E20 later. "It's not my scene," Anthony says. "If you want her, make it your scene," Zoe replies.
Later at the E20, Anthony gets some advice from Garry. "What you've got to do with a girl like Kat is dig in. She'll give in in the end. Well lets face it, her best days are behind her so she'll be looking for someone pretty soon." Anthony tries to talk to Kat again, but she is dancing with Chris; a stranger. Later in the pub, Garry tells Anthony what his mother did. "What I say about Kat is this" Garry advises. "Gorgeous? Certainly. Likeable? Not really. Now I won't deny there's something to be said about that combination. It's kind of a challenge.- Can you tame her? But if you start thinking you can change her- turn her into something that she's not, sorry Doc, you're seriously stuffed!" Anthony goes to Kat to apologise for his mothers behaviour. "I don't know what I possibly did to make you want to hurt me so much," he tells her which makes Kat feel guilty.

"After that performance?" Mo asks. "I don't think so." "Nobody tells my wife what to do." "Oh except you!" Lynne adds. "You're staying here Mo!" "You saw him. He's an animal." Mo complains. "That's right Mo. Everything's my fault isn't it." Trevor responds. He then turns to Little Mo. "You're coming home with me, aren't you." "Don't let him pressure you, love," Charlie says. You don't have to choose one or the other," Charlie comforts. "So put that thought out of your mind." "It would kill me ,dad. It really would." Mo tells them. "I can't lose my family, but I can't lose Trevor either." "Charlie turns to Lynne, "From now on, we give Trevor the benefit of the doubt for Little Mo's sake."
