After the reception, Charlie gives a lift to Mel and Steve as they go to the airport. But before they leave, Steve stops the cab, and leaves Mel alone. Then Phil gets shot... Monday 5th March
It's still the evening of the wedding and Jim is telling the Slater's about Ian's fight with Phil. "Why are there always fight at weddings?" asks Maureen. Kat tells her family that she is going over to Audrey's for tea so Mo gives her some advice. "You'll need to mind your P's and Q's then," she tells her. "They reckon they're a cut above in that house. And when you're drinking your tea, don't forget to hold your little finger out. And please don't say bog - say bathroom." In the cafe, Janine is asking her friends to come to her party. "That'll take you all of two minutes," says Lynne. At the Slater's Darren goes to visit Zoe. She tries to convince him to get over Kerry, but Darren won't leave until he has given her an engagement ring. At the garage, Janine catches Garry topless.
"Would you mind looking the other way," he asks her, smiling. Janine asks him or a driving lesson, but uses it as an excuse to pick up rent money. She then uses the money to buy crisps from the cafe, and cannot resist telling Lynne that Garry helped her out.
At tea time, Kat arrives at Audrey's. "Very smart," says Audrey. "You have made an effort." "I like your apron," replies Kat. During the meal, Audrey starts to talk to Kat. "Anthony says you're not a church girl, Kat." "Oh, weddings and funerals, you know," Kat replies. "So you haven't been confirmed then?" "I've been confirmed as many things in my time." "That's a shame," Audrey continues. ""Mind you, I can't remember the last time Anthony came with me to mass." "Well he's got so much to confess now he's going out with me." "Sauce !" Audrey replies, offering Kat the gravy boat, but meaning something completely different.
"Perhaps you'd like to see Anthony's graduation photo's," Audrey continues. "Shame you didn't go to university. It's a proud day for a mother." "My mother was proud of me when I when I rugby tackled a flasher in the park and got my picture in the paper," Kat says. "Where's your bo ... bathroom?" With Kat out of the way, Anthony has a go at his mother for interrogating her. But Kat overhears. "I don't know what's come over him," she laughs. "I must be a bad influence." "Now all you have to do is finish off your shift and pick up your cards!" Peggy cannot forgive her for leaving the door open all night. In the garage, an irate customer has a go at Garry for not getting his job done. He laughs when he finds out that Jamie is in charge.
