Grey hair and ankles

It's early in the morning on Zoe's birthday.  Mo has got her a dodgy hi-fi and Charlie gave her £50.  Kat fell down the stairs wearing her high heels after tripping over a coffee mug.  Mo is surprised to see her dressed so early.

In the Kitchen, Maureen finds a grey hair in Kat's head.  "You should start saving up for a face lift," comments Mo.

In the market, Kat buys Zoe a present, and whilst chatting to Tony, some kids  on scooters knock into her and she sprains her ankle.  The doctor very kindly bandages it up for her, but Audrey is watching and she doesn't approve at all.

Audrey's warning

In the pub, Audrey approaches Kat.

"Miss Slater," she says

"Yeah?"

"May I buy you a drink?"

"Are you serious?" asks Kat, taken aback.  "Yeah, that'll be lovely."

"I think you like my son," Audrey says, getting to the point.

"Maybe," Kat replies.

"He's a good boy.  He's studied very hard to get where he is."

"Yeah, I'm sure."
"You're a fine looking women," Audrey continues, taking a different approach.  "I'm surprised some young man didn't snap you up years ago."

"Maybe I didn't ant to be snapped up."

"At your age you should have a home and a couple of kids."

"I'm only twenty nine," says Kat defiantly.

"Maybe you'll find someone suitable before long.  My Anthony, he's seen many bad things in his job but in many ways he's still a very innocent young man.  Hasn't had much time for a social life.  I dare say in time, maybe quite soon, he'll meet a nice Catholic girl."

"Are you warning me off?" Kat asks, as the penny drops.

"Now settle down."

"Are you saying I'm not good enough for him?  What makes you think you're so special?"

"I mean no disrespect.  What I say is, my son is a very busy professional."

"You stupid, old bag." Kat replies

"I wish you good day, Miss Slater," Audrey concludes and walks off.

Zoe's party

At Zoe's party, Kat gives her the necklace she bought her.  Unfortunately Kerry ha given her the same thing and this upsets Kat and she storms off.  In the pub, she tries flirting, but has no luck and on the way back to the party, she meets Tony and invites him in.  He doesn't stay for long.  "You're losing your touch," says Zoe.  "You must be getting old."

Janine made herself up to look like Tiffany which proves too much for Terry.  As he sees her dancing with Garry, Terry lashes out and punches him.

When the cake is presented, Charlie tells everyone how special Zoe is to him, which annoys Kat more and she storms off again. {CLIP}

Zoe has arranged for Jamie to get drunk, which worked and the two end up kissing.  Then Sonia walks in...

Charlie goes to see Kat, but she is very upset.

"I'm just a piece of trash," she moans.

"You mustn't say that," Charlie replies.

"I'm nearly thirty one years old."

"I thought you were stopping at twenty nine."

Charlie goes on to tell her how much she reminds him of her mum, and the truth comes out as to why Kat is so unhappy... "She's my baby, dad!  Zoe's mine!  She's my baby,"  Kat cries. {CLIP}

Monday 5th February

Sister. Sister

After the party Kat is upset and worried about her behaviour.  The other family members, except Little Mo, who doesn't know, discuss whether Zoe should be told about Kat being her real mother.  When Zoe  goes to confront her sister, she ends up telling her how much she misses her mum which also upsets Kat.

The hi-fi that Mo bought Zoe broke down and Charlie bought a replacement.  "That's 150 quid you owe me," he tells Mo.

Zoe arranges to meet Jamie at the pub later for Nick's benefit gig but when Sonia walks in and catches them again, he runs out after her, leaving Zoe on her own.  Upset over this, the Slater family take her home, and Kat sticks up for her.  "She is my sister," she tells them all.

Tuesday 6th February

Off on holiday

Zoe and Kerry leave to go on their holiday to Tenerife.  They spend the day trying to make sure Charlie and Eddie keep away from each other and rope Robbie into their deceit.

In the garage, Garry admits his attraction to Janine.  "I wouldn't mind putting my dirty great big marks over that Janine," he says.  "She's a bit of a spitfire, ain't she."

Kat tells Sonia that she's doing the right thing giving Chloe up for adoption.  "Get on with your life and don't look back," she tells her.

Barry's cabs illegally steal work from Charlie.  "Never mind," Barry laughs.  "If the worst comes to the worst, you can always come and work for me."

Garry got caught moonlighting for Barry and Phil threatened him.  "No-one takes the mickey out of me," Phil threatens.  "Especially a nothing like you."

Later on in the pub, Charlie and Eddie meet and they realize that they have been hoodwinked by their daughters.  "Who's got the girls?" they cry in unison.  Robbie is now in trouble...

Thursday 8th February

Charlie's fury.

Charlie is furious that Zoe went on holiday with Kerry.  He makes Robbie wash his car as punishment.  "You let my baby girl go to Tenerife on her own with her peanut-brained mate," Charlie says

"Oi, that's my fiancée you're talking about," Robbie replies.

"Exactly," says Charlie

In the cafe, Anthony plucks up the courage to asks Kat out  for a drink.  She also gets propositioned by Jim, who is looking for a partner to run the pub with.

In the pub, Peggy tells Charlie how much Samantha changed when she went abroad, which winds him up even more.  "Poor Charlie," she says.  "Those girls of his.  They give him nothing but trouble."

"Whereas, your Phil's an angel," Mo replies.

Charlie is so wound up that he decides to go to Tenerife after Zoe, but Kat talks him round.  "If you go over there, you'll spoil it for her and she'll never forgive you," she tells him.

Monday 12th February

Puppy Doc!

At home, Charlie and Mo discuss the we3ather in Tenerife, but they can't decide exactly where it is.  Mo thinks it is near Majorca.  Kat comes into the kitchen.  "Good Morning," she says.  Charlie is shocked- he has never seen her so cheerful in the morning.

Kat goes to visit the doctor and arranges another night out with him.  The family are dying to know who her mystery man is.  "He's a professional," she tells them.

When she meets him in the pub, she takes his keys, hoping he will follow her.  And when he does, she smiles.  She has got him where she wants him.

Tuesday 13th February

Grounded!

Zoe comes home from holiday and Charlie is still furious with her.  Kat tries to calm him down.

Kat visits Tony at the surgery, whilst he was working, but he sent her away, with her tail between her legs.

Garry tells Lynne that she can't stay over, but doesn't tell her that Lisa is hiding there.

Kerry tries to coach Zoe as to what to say to Charlie  {CLIP}  , but Kerry lets slip that they went drinking in bars and Zoe got grounded for a month.

Garry warns Mark that Phil will soon learn that Lisa is there.  "I'll cross that bridge when I come to it'" Mark says.

Thursday 15th February

Valentines day

It's Valentines Day and Maureen is cleaning at the Vic.  "My Trevor bought me this huge card with a bunny on the front and I got breakfast in bed," she tells Peggy.  She spots the two glasses that Roy and Peggy used last night.  "Looks like someone had a Valentines drink last night," Maureen comments, but Peggy looks embarrassed.

Garry forgot to get Lynne a card, but Lynne thinks he is planning a big surprise for her.

Kat delivers a valentines gift to Tony at the surgery and asks to meet him later at the Vic.

Captain Rocket

In the Vic, Garry brings Lynne a huge card.  It is signed :

Unfortunately, he stole it off Jamie and didn't read it first.

Maureen put her foot in it when she mentions Peggy's late night drinking partner.  "If I had a fella at her age, I'd be shouting it from the rooftops"  comments Lynne.

"And we all know what you'd be shouting," laughs Barry.  " 'Do it to me, Captain Rocket' "

Caught

Phil hassles Garry about the whereabouts of Lisa, but Mark tells him that it won't be for much longer.

Kat meets the Doc, but he has made plans to go out with his mother.  Kat is not pleased and tells him she will have a good time whatever.  And later on, after they return, Kat gets her claws into him after all, but Audrey spots them.

Jamie catches Garry with his card and Lynne storms off when she finds out that he hadn't got her anything after all.

Monday 19th February

Driving ambition

Zoe is feeling stir crazy because she is grounded, but convinces her dad that if she was to do something educational, she could get a reprieve.  So she decides to start learning to drive.  She tries to convince Garry but he is reluctant, until Janine offers to pay him £70 for the lessons.  Zoe also catches Kat flirting with Tony.

Lynne tries to get Garry to take her out but he says he can't because he is busy.  When she finds out it is to take Zoe, Janine and Kerry on a driving lesson, she is upset, as is Kat, who thinks that Garry is now after Zoe.  Kat tries to warn her off him, but Zoe reacts badly and blames Kats anger on the fact that she didn't manage to get off with Tony.

The driving lessons were a disaster as Zoe ended up Kangarooing the car round the square.  Garry was so shook up that he almost ran Jim over.  Janine demanded her money back and Kat couldn't resist commenting on it.  "Stick to Lynne in future," she warns him.

Tuesday 20th February

Zoe finds out

Barry tries stealing a customer from Charlie but Roy intervenes.  "You're just asking for trouble," he tells Barry.  "Especially where the Slaters are concerned."

Kat phones Tony but Zoe overhears and when the call is finished, Zoe presses redial to find out who Kats new love is, which she does, and to shut her up Kat buys her breakfast.

Kat stormed into the surgery to see Tony, which upsets the receptionist, Claire.  He agrees to buy Kat sushi if she will let him work in peace.

Kat dresses up for her date with Tony, but Zoe is still grounded.  Zoe annoys the family so much by flicking channels, that Charlie agrees to take them to the pub, Zoe included.  Kat watches Charlie, Mo, Maureen and Zoe leave, and sneaks the doctor into the house.

Everyone finds out

In the pub, Charlie warns Zoe that she is not there to have fun and Mo decides to make her own fun by trying to wind Roy up.  "Still moping  over your missus?" She asks him.  "You know she'll never come back.  She was always a flighty one that Pat Harris or should I say Evans.  She's more than likely had a different old man for every day of the week by now."

The family decide to go home early, unaware that Tony is in bed with Kat.  During the night, he tries to sneak out but Zoe screams which brings the rest of the family out and Charlie grabs him by the throat.

"This is Dr Trueman," says Kat smiling.  "My new boyfriend."

"Good evening," says Tony, highly embarrassed.

Thursday 22nd

He weren't no gentleman

At the Slaters, the family, except Lynne who still doesn't know, are talking about Kats new fella.

"I'm a grown woman aren't I?" Kat complains.  "If I want my boyfriend to stay here, I don't see why I shouldn't."

"Can you believe she's pulled a doctor?" Zoe asks Little Mo.

"It's amazing, isn't it," she replies.  "I bet he's a right gentleman."

"He weren't no gentleman!" Mo pipes in.  "A proper gentleman wouldn't have been upstairs rummaging in my granddaughters drawers."

"I'm sure they were just talking or listening to music," Little Mo says, innocently.  "Ain't that right Kat?"

"I don't know what the fuss is about," Kat says.  "Lynne has her Garry stay here all the time."

"They're a proper item.  They've been together ages."  Mo continues.  "You and that doctor fella have only just met."

Then Charlie gives his view.  "I don't like it any more than you do, but I'd rather have her under my roof with the local G.P. than in a grotty bed-sit with some loser that she's met down the pub."

In the cafe, Mo feels duty bound to tell Audrey that her precious Anthony has been with Kat.  Lynne overhears.  "Is that right Nan?  Kat and the doctor?" asks Lynne.  "Get her, eh!  Phwoar!!"

When Kat meets Tony again, she wants to go public but he convinces her to still keep the affair low-key.

Monday 26th February

A new barmaid

In the pub, Robbie convinces Charlie to let Zoe go out for the night.  They decide to go to Janine's and then to a club.  Zoe asks Janine about her relationship with Terry.  "He must be gullible," says Zoe.  "Unless he's getting something out of it too."

Audrey has a chat with Mo about Tony and Kat.  Mo's advice is do nothing.  "I'm expecting this relationship to go straight down the toilet," says Mo.

Kat is worried that everyone thinks she is only with Tony for his money so Lynne suggests she get a job.  Then Phil offers her a job behind the bar...

Tuesday 27th February

Garry's guide to marriage

It's the day before the wedding and Mel ate Steve's grapefruit.  As she goes to get a replacement, she bumps into Mark who tells her that Lisa had a fight with Phil.  Mel goes and talks to Lisa and they make up. Unfortunately, she leaves the replacement grapefruit there.  When Steve asks Mel where the grapefruit is, she tells him that she left it at Kat's.

In the cafe, Garry tells Steve and Beppe his theory on marriage.  "Do you want to know why half of all marriages end in divorce?" he says.  "It's not the woman's fault, even though they nag us and go on at us.  It's us - us blokes.  It's because we are biologically programmed to spread it around a bit."  He goes on, "Have you ever wondered why a woman's got one egg and a bloke's got 50 million sperm?  That's god trying to tell us something, that is."

Garry also tells Beppe and Steve that Lisa is staying with Mark because Phil has slept with someone else.

When Kat walks in, Steve asks her for his grapefruit.  "I don't know what you're talking about.  I haven't seen Mel today," she replies.

Undone by a grapefruit

Behind the bar, Kat overhears Mel and Phil talking about a secret they want kept from Steve.  When Mel walks out, Kat asks Phil, "What's the matter with Snow White? And what don't she want you to tell Steve about?"

Later on, Mel gives Kat some advice.  "There's more to the job than flashing a smile and showing off your assets."

"But that's what I do best," Kat replies.  Phil enjoys the way Kat winds Mel up.

When Steve comes in Kat asks him, "Did you get your grapefruit?"  Mel then has to tell Steve that she went to see Mel.  "I'm sorry if I got you into trouble," Kat says, smiling.

That night, the Slater girls decide to throw Mel a surprise hen night.  They even rope in Jim, who is drunk, to do a striptease for them.  Kat has been giving free drinks to the girls and Steve finds out.  Kat then decides to wind Steve up about Mel.  "Maybe grapefruit ain't the only thing she lies about.  Just because she lives in a vicarage, doesn't mean she's the virgin Mary."

"You watch your mouth you dirty little scrubber," Steve says.

"Me!  That's rich.  You want to ask her about the secret she's been keeping from you."

"What secret!" Steve asks, getting angry.

"The one she don't want Phil Mitchell telling you about," Kat replies.
