The Today Patrol Car (10 Mecha Points)

© 1992, 2002 Kosuke FujishimaMiyuki and Natsumi patrol the streets around the Botuko Station in a Honda Today. This sub-compact car is ideal for manoeuvering the narrow alleys and crowded main streets of Tokyo and from carrying officers from foot-patrol area to foot-patrol area, but its two cylinder engine does not make it a vehicle suitable for pursuit of other cars.

Or so many law-breakers have believed and come to regret. Like virtually every other vehicle that has passed through Miyuki’s hands the Today patrol car has undergone a range of modifications that greatly enchances the car’s speed. Most prominent among these are the turbo-charger and the nitro-oxide injection system. The car can further be pushed to its limits by Natsumi providing counter-balance by hanging out the passenger side when Miyuki takes corners at laws-of-physics-defying speeds, or by Natsumi literally using shoe-leather to help slow down the car when extra stopping power, beyond even the heavy-duty breaks already installed in the car, is needed.

Miyuki is constantly tinkering with the patrol car’s engine, keeping it in top running order. Whenever it has been in a major smash-up (which has happened at least three times), she takes the engine apart and put it back together with new tweaks incorporated into the overall system.
