The only threat that the aliens seem to have brought with them to earth are large, flesh-eating plants that grow in the Enohana Crater formed by the crash of the Alien Mothership. These plants grow in clutches of 1d6+1. An individual plant consists of a strong, vine-like, flexible stalk that supports a bulbous, reddish flower pod. The pod opens into a maw large enough to swallow an adult human being. Yoshioka reports having been attacked by them, and on two separate occasions Mayuko is swallowed by one.
These plants are animate and seem to have rudimentary intelligence; they quietly stalk their intended prey and seem to know when it is distracted and easiest to catch. Once a victim has been swallowed, it is very difficult to escape his or her fate. However, if attacked from the outside with a sharp weapon, such as a knife or a machete, these plants can be defeated with relative ease. If attacked with blunt instruments and reduced to zero Health Points or lower, they explode. The explosion causes 10 points of damage to everyone within a 20-meter radius of the plant’s pod.
A strange liquid that is also found in the Crater, dubbed “alien fuel” by Yoshinen, and the subject of an expedition to the Crater by the handyman, Mayuko, and NieA, is somehow tied to the alien plants. Whether a byproduct of them, or a fertilizer that serves to spur their growth, when the staff used the fuel in the Enohana Bathhouse’s boilers, a large clutch of the aggressive beings sprang up on the grounds within two days. The “alien fuel” is discussed below.
Body: 6 Mind: 2 Soul: 2

*Unique Special Defect (Rooted): The attack range of the man-eating
plants is limited by the length of the vine upon which their pod grows.
A vine is 2d6 x5 meters in length.
The alien fuel is tasteless, odorless, and has the exact same texture as water. When exposed to even the slightest spark, it catches fire immediately and burns rapidly. When used to stoke existing fires, or combined with combustible materials like cloth, paper, or wood, it causes them to burn hotter and more efficiently. When the liquid is lit on fire without anything to feed off, it burns away swiftly burns away in a flash of light and heat. In enclosed spaces, the consumption of the fuel causes a small explosion. There is little damage inflicted, but those caught in the blast are covered with soot and must roll successful Body stat checks or be stunned for 2d6 rounds.
Yoshioka uses the alien fuel in the Enohana Bathhouse’s boiler, causing
it to burn hotter and cutting down of fuel consumption. It is possible
there are other uses for the fuel—perhaps it makes internal combustion
engines operate more efficiently when mixed with gasoline—but such information
is not revealed during the series. Instead, it must be left up to the imagination
of the GM and players who portray characters in NieA’s world. (If GMs want
to infuse a major threat to the world at large, he can rule that the alien
fuel actually mutates common earth plants into the man-eating monsters
that almost ate Mayu and almost leveled the Enohana Bathhouse. What if
the fumes generated by cars testing a hybrid fuel created by mixing gasoline
and the alien fuel causes clutches of plants to spring up within Tokyo
or Chicago or some other major urban area? Hey, it’s the perfect excuse
to run a really weird crossover between NieA Under Seven and “You’re
Under Arrest!” or Gunsmith
Cats.
