Chiaki is a Mayuko’s only friend at the cram school they both attend. She comes from a reasonably well-off family, so in comparison to Mayuko money is not a problem for her, is very self assured, and is popular among the other students. She approaches her studies in a fairly frivolous manner, but is extremely dedicated to tracking down and documenting the mysterious facts about the UFOs and aliens that live all around her.

Genzo is a large young man who has had a crush on Mayuko since they were both small children. Although Mayuko has only the dimmest memories of her childhood, Genzo vividly remembers how she was the only one who was kind to him when neighborhood bullies picked on him. After he and his family move to the Enohana area, he seeks her out at every opportunity he can fabricate.
Like Yoshioka is constantly denying that he has any romantic feelings toward Kotomi, Genzo is afraid to express his true feelings to Mayuko, even though they are obvious to everyone--except Mayuko.
