15 year old Talin is a handsome human male, with light brown hair and pale green eyes. He has an easy smile and his face lights up with excitement whenever he is confronted with the opportunity to learn something new, or meet some interesting individual. He dresses simply, in the modest styles favored by most citizens from the Grimm's Crossing area of the Empire. He displays his holy symbol of Kevis proudly and only carries weapons and wears armor when he feels he absolutely has to.
Talin is curious about everyone and everything in the world around him, both because his religion requires him to learn all that he can, but also because he is naturally inquisitive and concerned about the well being and happiness of others. He will always try to resolve differences through friendly chatting and negotation before resorting to threats or violence. He is also a loyal and brave friend to those who put their trust in him. There is only one thing that Talin isn't curious about: the fate of his mother. He knows only that she abandoned him as a baby, and he can't help but resent her a little for it.
Talin was left with at Grimm Crossing's Church of Kevis by an adventuring wizardess who couldn't be bothered with raising a child. He spent his earliest years as a sort of mascot for the scholarly priests, but by his 10th birthday it was apparent to the Holy Abbott of the small community that Talin would make an excellent priest of Kevis. By the time he was 14, he was able to perform all the rites that allowed him to be inducted into the clergy as a full cleric before most youngsters are deemed qualified.
All clerics of Kevis have an academic specialty: each is particularly knowledgeable in a single subject. For Talin, that subject is plant life, with a particular emphasis on medicinal herbs and plants with unusual or deadly properties. It was this knowledge that caused him to sent on a long and dangerous journey to the faraway city of Sounal Tar
