About NuBYU Boxers........

After being introduced to my first Boxer at the tender age of three buy a close family friend

.... I have had a Boxer in my life ever since .... I owned my very own Boxer in 1972 which was just after I got married and before my children were born.
I came to Canada from England  in 1980 and began showing Boxers shortly after that.

Soon I had bred my first home bred champion who was a multi BOB winner,

I still had a young family so I introduced them to the world of showing and obedience,  both of my daughters  reached provincial champions in Junior Handling and my youngest daughter put a CD on her own Boxer at the age of Thirteen . My eldest daughter held her own in the ring putting Championships on many Boxers.

By the mid 80's I had bred a couple of litters and made up some champions out of these litters but I was not happy with what I was producing, I wanted consistency, something I was not seeing in my whelping box .... so I turned to the UK.

When my parents also came to live in Canada they  brought with them a very nice male Boxer  Redfyre Ransom Note "Breeze"...he was a UK. Ch. Steynmere Night Rider Grandson. Purchased from Norma Byerley and Mrs. Holt

Eventually after I had given up all hope of Breeze ever breeding he did breed and low and behold there in the whelping box was the consistency I yearned for .... they all had the same basic look, and lovely dark masks but this boy was not a champion in Canada ... mainly because I  was told at that time and I quote "you will never finish an uncropped Boxer in this country",  well I soon changed that, and  made all my Boxers champions, uncropped .

I also won best brace in show under George Taylor I was told that couldn't be done either, I also declined to be a member of the Boxer Club of Canada because at that time they had a strict white Boxer policy and I believed that I was not killing anything I struggled so hard to help into this world.....  so now you know some of my character and my  some of my views ... Next I was contacted by a lady and was asked if i would be interested in forming the Alberta Boxer Club ...that lady was Joanne Burns and shortly after that phone conversation our club was formed with me as the clubs first Secretary later I went on to be President of the Club, I am still an active member of that club today by maintaining it's web site (something I can do from home)

In 1990 I brought over a UK import Can. Champion Redfyre Northern Lights "Indy" out of  UK Ch. Wrencliff  Flying Scotchman of Winuwuk x  UK Ch. Redfyre Prima  Donna purchased from the late Mrs. Norma Byerley  . Some of you may remember Indi ...he made his championship very quickly, even though he looked quite different from the others and of course was uncropped, Indi produced some very nice Boxers including NuBYU's Inkeeping with Society "Soc's" who never saw the inside of the show ring because it was about this time that tradigy befell my family and cut my show career dead in its tracks ....  With the grace of God maybe i will show in the ring again.........
