Guild Raid Guidelines Basic Info 1) Any member of the Sages of Shadow can organize a raid. In fact, it is encouraged for non-officers as well as officers to do this. 2) The Organizer of the raid is in charge of: a) The date and time b) the purpose of the raid c) the organization of groups d) Loot distribution e) plans of attack A) Date and Time Set a date AT LEAST 1 week prior to the event. 2 weeks may be better, seeing as RL can be a pain in the rumpkus. Place your raid idea in the Upcoming Raid post on the website. About 2-3 days prior to the raid, get a head count of people participating. B) Purpose of Raid At the same time as setting the date and time of the raid, create a purpose to the raid. I.e. to camp as many areas as possible or to make an assault on a certain mob. Make it clear to everyone what the purpose is. C) Organization of Groups It is the Organizers responsibility to organize the groups in the raid. This can be a big headache, which is why it is necessary to get a head count at LEAST 2 days prior to the raid. Have a general idea of the groups BEFORE the raid begins. People get a little bored and frustrated if this isn't done prior to the raid. The Organizer also appoints group leaders. Group leaders responsibilities include, keeping their group together, and appointing duties. Group leaders report to the organizer, and group members report to the group leader. DO NOT BOTHER THE ORGANIZER. They have enough to worry about. D) Loot Distribution Here's the big one. The purpose of a raid is NEVER for the loot. If you go in with that mentallity, the raid will be a mess. If some item should drop, here's how the loot order should go. The leader of the killing group of the mob will loot the item in question. The organizer is responsible for the divvying of the loot. 1st priority, is on a NEED basis. If someone needs the item, tell the organizer who then will assign them a number, and a lottery will determine the winner. Dropped items are for PRIMARY CHARACTERS ONLY. 2ndary characters are NOT eligible for raid items. 2nd priority: is on a WANT basis. IF, and only if, there is no one on the raid that needs the item, then the item will go into the general lottopool. This is important folks, we had many disagreements on a previous raid and there was a lot of "unhappy" feelings going around. This is how it will be.please accept it. E) Plans of Attack Come up w/ some strategies on how to attack the zone. The organizer is in charge. Not an officer, not the guild leader, the organizer. What they say goes. The organizer may also elect a couple of members to be 2nd in charge to handle minor issues, etc. Raid Members' Responsibilities: 1) Be patient. These things take time to organize, and things always change at the last minute. Be patient and do what is asked of you. Most of all.....don't go exploring, stay w/ the raid party. Don't duel or anything that is confusing the situation. 2) use guild chat to communicate. Do not give tells to the organizer UNLESS they tell you first. The organizer has many things to take care of and /tells can be annoying at such times. 3) DO NOT WORRY ABOUT EXPERIENCE. The purpose of a raid is NEVER exp or loot. It's about teamwork and achieving a goal. Do not expect to get a lot of exp on a raid. Accept what you get and be happy w/ that. 4) If you are having a problem w/ a person or something going on, give a tell to your group leader, and if necessary then, and only then /tell the organizer. 5) Do not whine and complain about nothing. Many people on the last couple raids were complaining about being bored (try a plane, it's rush rush rush, then sit for 45 minutes). It aggravates the organizer. 6) Listen to the organizer and your group leader. They are in charge. Raids can be extremely enjoyable if everyone cooperates. The organizer of a raid reserves the right to ask a raider to leave the raid, if they are not cooperative during a raid, KS'ing, or ninja looting. If a severe offense occurs, the organizer can talk to the officers about placing the infractor on probation, or if the member is on probation, they can and will be removed from the guild. Participation: Only Sages of Shadow members, and prospective members may attend a guild raid. Non-Members of the guild may join a raid IF, it is approved by 90% of the participating guild members. Raids are intended to be a unifying guild event. It is expected that all guild members that are on during a raid participate. It's a bad show if a member of the raid is not participating with their guild. It gives the impression of not caring about YOUR guild. If something is preventing you from attending a raid (i.e. CR), give a tell to an officer or the organizer, and we will do what we can to help. We have many porters in the guild now. So porting should not be an issue. |
