Spell Crafting System
On the Nubblies Shard, players will have access to a "Spell Crafting System".  This part of our website is dedicated to explaining the system more thourghly.

What Is Spell Crafting?

Spell crafting is the ability to modify weapons, armor, and jewelry using special "magic jewels".  Spell crafting allows players to increase a mod of there choice on a item of there choice.

What Do I Need to Spell Craft?

In order to spell craft, first, you need at least 80 inscription and 80 alchemy.  Next will you need to buy a Book of Spellcraft from a spellcrafter vendor located in the mage shops.  The book comes empty, meaning you can't spell craft anything right away.  Instead, you need to purchase jewels of spell crafting from the spellcrafter vendor for 200k each.  The jewels are much like magery scrolls.  Once the jewel is placed into your book, you know the spellcraft forever.  There is a jewel of spellcrafting for every single mod you are able to spellcraft onto items.

Once you have the required skills, a book, and at least 1 jewel of spellcraft, you will need to get "Magic Jewels".  Magic jewels are little yellow gems that players can get as loot off of Balrons, Shadow Wyrms, White Wyrms, Ancient Wyrms, and all 6 champions.  The jewels work much like reagents.  Each time you try to spellcraft you need at least 1 jewel on you.  If you suceed, 1 jewel is consumed.  If you fail, you keep the jewel, but there is a chance the item could break.

What Are the Risks Of Spellcrafting?

Everytime you attempt to spellcraft an item, theres a 50% chance you can break the item.  Also, there is a 40% chance that you fail, and take fire damage.

How Powerful Can I Make An Item Through Spellcrafting?

Spellcrafting allows a player to add/increase a mod on an item up to 50% of its max intensity.  For example, hit fireball on weapons maxes at 50%.  Through spellcrafting, youll only be able to get the mod up to 25%.  I capped the power of spellcrafting so that it would not make runic hammers or hunting for magic items pointless.

What Is The Max Amount of Properties I Can Add To An Item?

You are only allowed to spellcraft up to 5 properties on an item.  This also means, for example, if you get an item with 3 properties already on it, youll only be able to add an additional 2 properties to the item.

Why Are Some Spellcrafting Jewels Not For Sale?

I purposely cut out a few spellcrafting jewels for a reason.  The properties I dont allow players to spellcraft onto items are: Spell Channeling, Lower Reagent Cost, Fast Casting, and Fast Cast Recovery.  The reasons why each specific spellcraft jewel is not for sale are listed below.

Spell Channeling - Adding spell channeling is currently a token reward, and I believe it should stay that way.  Spell Channeling is a very powerful mod, so obtaining it shouldn't be easy.

Lower Reagent Cost - Reagents arent needed for magery, necromancy, or chivlry, so there was no point in keeping this as a possible spell craft.

Fast Cast and Fast Cast Recovery - These both are extremely powerful mods for any spellcasting skills.  I think that obtaining these mods should be difficult, so I do not let players obtain these spellcrafts.

That about sums up the Spellcrafting System.  If you still have questions about any aspects of the system, please feel free to page a GM, contact us via email/icq, or post on the forums.
