OK so you came in here wondering how to make a ram air intake for your EF....just some FYI info: this technique is old school and has been used by many people back in the day when AEM and Injen wasnt even born yet!!

what u need:
stock air box
K&N drop in(preferred)
3.5inch airducting
dremel
drill

what i did:

firstly, remove the resonator. to do so, u will have to remove the inner fenderwall lining on the passenger side. and then i just basically pryed out the resonator. it's held on by 2 bolts, but one of them i couldnt get to, so i litterally ripped it out...oh yea, boroness (^.^); then in the bumper, right under the front signal light u want to drill a hole. try using the largest drill bit u have. after drilling the hole, take out ur dremel and enlarge the hole...it should be larger than ur fist. once the hole is there, install the air ducting u have behind it and route it to where the hole is(the hole where ur resonator port opening that connected to ur airbox used to be). once in, find a way to secure it(i used a zip tie). after that, take ur stock airbox and examine the rubber snout that comes out of it...now rip it out, throw it away and never think of it again. after u do that, put the ducting into airbox opening inlet for air and install ur airbox back into the car. Voila!!! ur done. i wish i had some pics to illustrate, but i dont have a digi cam. i am using a B16 intake tube(mucho larger than stock) and have a home made oil catch can. i instantly noticed more low end torque with this setup and on the highway it picks up speed noticably quicker! i found that at the track(REAL track, not drag strip ), the short ram made me lose power. becase at the track, ur engine runs quite hot and that's just no fun...ram air makes for a positive intake air vaccuum charge and so not only does ur engine suck air, air is also being forced into it! IMO, this type of setup is better than ANY sort of short ram setup no matter what.
