How to get more cooling to the engine bay a la boro j-drifter style:

Firstly, remove the hood...simply unbolt the 4 bolts on the latch and take the hood off. then inbetween the bolts and the latch put about 2-4 large washers in there and then put the hood back on. what this will do is prop the back end of the hood up and allow for hot air to escape as well as positive air pressure to seep in.

The reason for positive air pressure is just the aerodynamics of the car...between the hood and windshield for some reason that i wont dare to explain(due to my lack in science knowledge), air will actually blow into the engine area if the hood is propped up...it will be kind of like a vaccum effect. This is why on some nascars u see the back end of the hood being higher than the front...this is where they have the carbs and the carbs get to suck in cooler air as well as have air directly blown towards them.

this may not look to attractive but when it comes down to performance on a budget, it is functionality over looks. u may notice this being done on a lot of ae86's in drift videos because this technique is very common in japan.
