From the Organisers
2007 marks the 25th anniversary of Philip K Dick’s untimely death, and to mark the occasion the English Team at Nottingham Trent University are leading a day of discussion, in celebration of this increasingly influential and prescient author. Graham Joyce and a special guest will offer writers’ perspective on PKD, Daniel Cordle looks at ‘cold war’ images in The Penultimate Truth, Souvik Mukherjee talks about computer gaming and ‘Blade Runner’, Mahendra Solanki will introduce films of Dick’s work and Emrys Jones gives a reader’s and enthusiast’s response to Dick. There will be plenty of time for informal discussions and get-togethers. This is a free event, but numbers are limited for logistical reasons, so you will need to apply in advance. Buffet lunches, including vegetarian options, and teas/coffees will be available at cost price: please let us know when you contact us whether you would like a buffet lunch. |
