The Ivory Duo
Natalie Tsaldarakis is a Greek pianist based in London, UK. Natalie is known for the refinement of her interpretations and her commanding stage presence. Her performances, both solo and as member of the Ivory Duo with husband Panayotis Archontides, have taken her to the US, Greece, Italy, Finland, and the UK. Her many distinctions include being invited to membership of the US National Honorary Music Society Pi Kappa Lambda at the age of 24, and having been awarded the Soloist Diploma (highest award for a Classical performer and teacher in Greece) with distinction at the age of 19.  In 2008, Natalie and Panayotis became members of the Alink-Argerich Foundation.
Her teachers include Julliard graduates D. Toufexis (pupil of Lateiner), D. Kara (pupil of G. Bachauer), Dr. Bedford (Gorodnitsky), Dr. McHugh (Masselos, protege of Copland). In the UK, she has been coached by Elena Riu, professor of Trinity College of Music, and she is currently under Martino Tirimo's tutelage. Natalie has also taken part in masterclasses of important Russian pianist Larissa Dedova (first teacher of Ivo Pogorelich), James Tocco (former pupil of Tagliaferro), etc. Natalie has competed in international competitions, such as the Gina Bachauer and the Beethoven-Vienna Competition. Natalie was the district winner of the Wurlitzer Young Artist Competition (MTNA, 1993), and also won several regional competitions and auditions in Pennsylvannia, US (1992-1994).
After a decade of succesful teaching career as a piano professor at the American College of Greece and at well-known conservatories, including the National Conservatory of Greece, Natalie decided to relocate with her family to London in order to concentrate on her performing career, while continuing to teach piano both in private and as . In 2007, Natalie gave her first UK solo recital at the historic St Olaves in central London, followed by solo and duo performances at such prestigious venues as St Martin in the Fields, London, St John' s- Smith Square, Charlton House, Regent Hall, The Reform Club and also appeared in The New Masters Series (piano duet, with the Ivory Duo, July 7th, 2007, The Maltings Arts Theater, Herts). With the Ivory Duo she has been coached by pianist Elena Riu, pianist-composer Douglas Finch, former Head of Keyboard at TCM, and Vanessa Latarche, Head of Keyboard at RCM. The duo was also shortlisted for the 2007-2008 Carne Fellowship in chamber music at TCM.

After her succesful piano lecture-recital at St Brides', London, premiering the work of Yannis Constantinides, along with her live appearance as guest on Carole Finer's radio show 'Sound Out' (Resonance 104.4 FM), Natalie plans to record the composer's work on CD.

Natalie is Co-ordinator for Higher Education Music at Canterbury College, teaches at Lewisham Music Service and runs the Blackheath Piano Studio. Natalie also manages the London Piano Meetup group for anyone interested in piano recitals and classical music ( http://piano.meetup.com/68/) .
