Another of my hobbies is R/C cars. I have a HPI Super Nitro RS4
i recently raced in their HPI Challenge, which took place in the El Paseo Plaza in Rancho Santa Margarita, a middle to upper class neighborhood in southern Orange County. Here's how it went

Here's a pic of my car, a BMW V12 LMP with a Castrol paint scheme. Out of 100 cars or so, my car was picked as one of the ten best looking bodies. I consider this to be pretty good considering my I used mainly decals whereas everyone else in the Top Ten were due to the actual paintjobs. But unfortunately, that was as far as I got.
After the Concours, it was time for qualifying. There were a total of nine people in my class, Super Nitro Modified. There were three qualifying heats, each five minutes long. In the first heat, I had to quit after one minute due to mechanical problems. It was later revealed that the differential screws had come loose, thus getting stuck on the front bulkhead. I fixed this problem and was able to start the the second heat. I was driving fairly well, but I was still crashing into the boards often. After three minutes or so, the car couldn't take any more of a beating and the exhaust fell off. End of heat two. In heat three, I did much better. Even after my body fell off, I got it back on and was able to finish the heat. After all three heats, I was able to qualify eighth with 10 laps. The top qualifier had 24 laps or so.
On the driver's stand, racing
In the main event, which was ten minutes long, I finished 5th. I finished with 34 laps. The winner finished with 44 laps. I could have placed as high as fourth, maybe third, but with my unrefined driving skills, I continuously crashed into the boards, slowing me down.
