| Indigo Colony in the Basement 14th April with Infected
Despite early worries that the audience would be smaller than usual, due to breakdown in communications with school holidays, Indigo Colony still managed to pull in over 100 people to perform there 3rd basement gig in as many months. Infected also contributed to the audience size and put on a great opening with a set of classic song including Kill the Chavers. What really impressed me most about this set was the addition of barbers backing vocals which worked well against Jacks lead. Revolution Rob, Pip on my back, Fran got murdered and Jamie also known as Indigo Colony then took to the stage and opened well with a song normally associated with the end of one of there sets the fantastic, In and Hour. The set continued with a string of classic songs and most of the audience were transfixed for the length of the show. I was excited when I saw Jamie sit down to do the start of "Reservoir" but disappointed when the song didnt make it after a capo failure on Robs guitar. Rob controlled the moment well. Look folks this isnt going to work with out a capoThis ones called Hey Ya! Billie Jean was quite good but bassist Pip Coates Blamed conditions in the basement for the scrappy end to the set. Its just too hot in here! After the set I managed to grab the set list form 3 out of 4 members and to view them click here! I didnt manage to get Jamies so if any one knows what his funny name from it was just put it in the guestbook. All in all it was a good night and well worth the journey and the money! Dont forget to Catch Indigo Colony with Jonny and the Sprouts and OpalStrobe at the Buddle Arts Centre on the 30th April! (More on that here) |
