16th June 2004
YMCA Basement
Killing Lucy, Motion Sickness and Origin

This gig was one of those gigs that was placed on the gig list and people immediately began to put it down. That is the
harsh reality of a gig which included bands with names like Killing Lucy and Motion Sickness. However. As the Basement began to fill up all the negative associations vanished as the crowed were warmed up by Origin who pleased the audience immediately with their cover of Stacys Mom a mixture of laughter and applause continued throughout their set and the band are already showing promise for the future.
The next band were total
newcomers to the NTYMC and to the Basement but as soon as they took to the stage they had made themselves at home. Motion Sickness, who formed in April this year, had an energetic performance which left the basement rocking. Singer Daz and finger tapping guitarist Graysies humour added that extra factor to the night which raised the crowd to a whole new level of excitement.
After a short 15 min break, during which the crowd took a well needed breather, the headlining act Killing Lucy took to the stage and played to an audience which found it hard to stay still as one by one the band
removed their tops in the sweltering heat of the Basement. Their recently recruited drummer from Motion Sickness was the first to start the trend, which by the end left most female audience members horse. The final song of the night was the Lost Prophets classic Last Train Home which was defiantly a winner with the crowd as the basement shook to the sound of  but we singyeah we singand we sing
