Note: Ok I compiled this list after sitting down and thinking about shows that have the hero/sidekick formula. I found that many shows had the same factors. This list is not exclusive I am sure you guys can think of lots of other shows that fit this list. I would love to hear some of your "signs that u may be a sidekick". The shows that inspired me specifically, and have these traits are: Xena, Hercules, Beastmaster, Jack of All Trades, Andromeda, Earth Final Conflict, Relic Hunter, Batman, Dark Angel, Buffy, Angel, Cleopatra 2525, Seaquest, X-Files, and Lois and Clark. All these shows have at least some of the things on this list. Some shows have MANY of these though! *Xena*cough*Hercules*cough. lol

1. Your best friend saves the world or/and people on a regular basis.

2. You helped them save the world but for some strange reason no one ever remembers you.

3. You're really funny or smart.

4. Your best friend is considerably more beautiful/handsome than you are.

5. The clothes you wear are less trendy or revealing than theirs are.

6. Your clumsy

7. They have issues/personal demons and you are their unofficial counselor/fan

8. You tend to be unsure of yourself or shy.

9. You are with them 24/7 but noone remembers you, your name, or what you did. (see #2)

10. You rarely get the guy/girl

11. You tend to frequently be the bargaining chip or ransom between the "hero" and the villians.

12. You can't defend yourself (or at least not as well as the "hero").

13. You always find yourself in those "It would only happen to you" situations.

14. You whine a lot (while its annoying your best friend never seems to mind).

15. You always have something profound/insightful to say.

16. You're a wuss.

17. You and your BF are like day and night with nothing in common but yet you click anyway.

18. The "hero" always says that they envy or wish to be more like you.(You can't understand why they envy you since they are: beautiful/handsome, popular, strong, respected.....and many other adjectives you probably aren't.)

19. The show is named after your best friend.

20. The villians mock you.

21. The villians refer to you with the words: little, annoying, friend, little girl, little man, (usually in combination) or something else referring to your appearance, stature, or personality.

22. You're naive, idealistic, innocent, or sweet.

23. You defend and support the "hero" even when they don't deserve it.

24. They order you around - and you obey.

25. You're quirky or offbeat.

26. When you met them you were a geek, loser, uptight, etc. and now you are better at everything. This includes but is not limited to: Dressing, fighting, popularity, confidence, coolness, and appearance.

27. You make strange or stupid comments at weird times.

28. People think that there's more going on between the two of you than there may be.

29. Your best friend would or has died for you, gone to hell for you, or other impossible places and rescued you (sometimes more than once!).

30. They tell you "YOU'RE THE SIDEKICK!" (If you watched Dark Angel last week you saw this in action.)

Ok this was probably boring but it was fun for me to write. The life of a sidekick sucks! Always in the shadow of the hero/heroine, noone appreciates you, and the show is named after your best friend ie. Buffy..., Hercules, Xena, but sometimes the show is named after the sidekick! ie. Cleopatra 2525, or it is named after both of you (if you're lucky.) ie Lois and Clark.
