The Hampton Roads Chapter of the National Technical Association Inc., was chartered in 1968 at Hampton University in Hampton, Virginia. It has since grown to include the entire Hampton Roads area, which consists of Hampton, Newport News, York County, Poquoson, Norfolk, Portsmouth, Chesapeake, Suffolk, and VA Beach.
The NTA Hampton Roads Chapter is comprised of volunteer engineers, scientists, computer specialists, mathematicians, technicians, designers, math/science educators, physicists, chemists, and other persons who are committed to expanding the career awareness and opportunity for minorities and women in science/technology fields. Both professionals and non-professionals are invited to join us in this endeavor.
The chapter provides exemplary leadership in the community through mentor ship, encouragement, scholarship, and career awareness. Chapter major programs include its Mathematics Contest, SAT Tutorials, Technical Student Symposium, Chrome Picnic, Tennis Open, Scholarships, and various other community service activities. The chapter also partners with many local organizations to carry our mutual goals and objectives consistent with the NTA mission.
The chapter normally meets the 2nd Tuesday of each month at the Work Force Trainning Center at 600 Butler Farm Road just before Thomas Nelson Community College. The meetings start at 5:00 PM and normally end around 6:00 PM. Our meetings are open, so Please Feel Welcome To Join Us!
