!Chapter Seven!
Caitlin watched Angela as she ran out the door. Cait looked in the same direction she had watched Ang run from to see the same sight Ang had seen. "Oh no," she thought to herself. "Chris you idiot!"
Lance noticed Cait's frown & followed her eye-line to see Chris & Emily. "Oh no..." he mumbled. He looked to Cait. "Did Ang see that?" he asked, a frown creasing his face.
"Yes. She just ran out too," Cait replied.

Angela drove home & ran inside, slamming the door. Crumpling on the couch, she ignored her puppy when it tried to comfort her by licking her hand. She heard the phone ring & sniffled, letting the answering machine pick it up.
"Hey this is Ang! Push the one button to go s-t-r-8 to the beep or bother yourself & listen to the rest of this message & waste your time. If you listened to all this, you have no life... JUST KIDDING! *giggle*" *beep*
"Cute message Ang. Look girl, I am so sory about Chris sweetie. If I would've known he was that much of a sleeze I would never have hooked y'a'll up," Cait apologized in her message. "I mean it girl. If you feel up to talking, that's cool. Just gimme a call. You know the number."
The answering machine beeped again as Cait hung up. Ang sniffled & closed her eyes, begging to herself for her tears to stop. She was definately not in the mood for any pity. She hated pity more than being hurt by people. especially those she loved. It had happened far too many times.

"Bellsouth, this is Angela speaking, hold on a moment please," Angela sighed, answering the phone for her new job. Putting whoever it was on hold, she returned to her present call. When she was done with the costumer, she clicked over to who was on hold. "Thank you for holding, how may I help you or direct your call?"
"Hey girl, I was just calling to check up on you to see how you were doing for your first week," Cait smiled into the phone.
"Hey Caitlin. Things are going good... Could be better though," Angela sighed, "I really can't talk at the moment. You know...wanna show the boss I'm a good worker."
"Alright girly. You take care & have fun makin' the dough."
"I will. Hey Cait, when's the wedding again?"
"Um. It is next next saturday."
"Oh goody. Day off. Bye Cait."
"Bye Ang."
Ang hung up & took out her cell phone, starting up a game of snake. She was determined to beat her high score of 540 points since she had no assignments at the moment. She wouldn't normally play games at work, but right now, she just needed something to do. A brief knock at her door made her pause her game & set down her cell. Looking up at the door, she smiled at her boss. "Good afternoon sir," she said. "What can I do for you?"
"Nothing at the moment Angela. I just wanted to come here & let you know you're dismissed to lunch now."
"Thank you for letting me know sir."
"Please, call me Jett," he smiled. "I don't like the whole formal thing. Good props though. Now, get out & go to lunch," he smiled, walking on down the hall.
Angela stood up, grabbing her purse & cell. As she was walking out of her office, she locked the door & turned off the light. She walked down the hall to the break room & sat down to eat the food she bought at the vending machines outside of the break room. She looked up at the door when a small band of laughter entered the room. In the midst of it was Kyle Brandston, head Executive of trading & stocks. She had ran into him a few times before in the halls of the building, but they had never really had the chance to stop & talk. He looked over at her & winked, flashing her a toothy smile. She smiled a little back & returned to her chips & Sweet Raspberry Iced Tea.
"Hey," he smiled, sitting down infront of Angela at the table she was sitting at. "Haven't I seen you in the halls before?" he asked as his friends left.
"Yes you have," she replied. "I'm Angela."
"Nice to meet you Angela, I'm Kyle..."
"Nice to meet you too, Kyle," Angela smiled.
"So, you're new here, right?"
"Yep. How long have you been working here?"
"About twelve years, going on thirteen."
"Wow. That's a long time."
"Yea. But it has its benefits."
