Chapter 9
(Three weeks later)
"You are coming tomorrow, arent you?" I asked Ann as we watched 7th Heaven.
"Of course!" my aunt replied. "The guys gave me front row tickets and everything!" It was the night before the concert, and I was more nervous than ever. "Dont worry, youre going to do fine!" she said, putting an arm around me.

"You ready?" JC asked, knocking on my dressing room door.
"I guess," I answered, unlocking the door.
JC stepped inside and looked at me. The black leather pants that Justin had picked out fit quite nice, and the tight, navy-blue T-shirt that Lance had chosen did to. "You look great!" he complemented and I blushed. "You remember what to do, dont you?"
"Its not like its that hard," I laughed. "I only have to sing a couple of songs ya know!"
"Lets go." JC placed his hand on the small of my back and escorted me out.
"You look great!" Lance complemented.
"She wouldve looked better with that shirt I picked out, though," Joey complained.
The guys were ushered onstage and I heard the guys start to sing "No Strings Attached."
* * * * *
Nsync was now singing "Music of My Heart," and I would soon have to go on and sing Glorias part. "And your love, is the music of my heart."
I gripped the microphone and entered on stage. "You were the always on my side-"
"Always on my side," Justin repeated, looking at me.
"Always standin by-"
"Always standin by-"
"Seein me through, ooo. You were the song that always made me sing."
"Made me sing," the guys repeated.
"Im singing this for you."
"Singing this for you," JC echoed.
"Everywhere I go, I think of where Ive been. And youre the one who knew me better, than anyone ever will again!"
"You taught me to run, you taught me to fly. Helped me to free the me inside! Helped me hear the music of my heart. You opened my eyes, you opened the door, to somethin Ive never known before. And your love, is the music of my heart."
"What you taught me, only your love could ever teach me," I sang.
"You got through when no one could reach me, before," JC said, wrapping his arm around my shoulder.
" Cause you always saw in me," we sang together, "all the best that I could be! It was you who sent me free."
"You taught me to run, you taught me to fly, helped me to free the me inside. Helped me hear the music of my heart, helped me hear the music of my heart! You taught me to run, you taught me to fly, helped me to free the me inside. Helped me hear the music of my heart. You opened my eyes, you opened the door, to somethin Ive never known before. And your love, is the music of my heart!"
"Music of my heart,"
"Is the music of, my heart." A deafening cheer ran through the audience. We exited off stage.
"That was GREAT!" Joey exclaimed. "Only one song left!"
"You ready, Alyssa?" JC asked. "This is basically your spot light time!"
"I guess," I breathed.
We walked back on stage and sat down on some stools. "Whats up Utah!?!" JC screamed. A loud uproar ran through the audience.
"Wed like to welcome our special guest. Her name is Alyssa Monson." Justin introduced and I waved my hand.
"Next were going to sing a special song for some special people," Lance said. "This song is for all of the deaf or hard of hearing people. The song is, God Mustve Spent A Little More Time On You"
While the members of Nsync sang the song, I signed the words. "Can this be true, tell me can this be real? How can I put into words what I feel? My life was complete, I thought I was whole! Why do I feel like Im loosing control?" Justin sang.
It felt as if everyone was staring at my hands or my mouth as I signed. "In all of creation all things great and small, you are the one that surpasses them all! More precious than any diamond or pearl! They broke the mold when you came in this world. And Im trying hard to figure out," JC sang, "just how I ever did without. The warmth of your smile, the heart of a child, thats deep inside, it leaves me purified!"
I continued signing, concentrating on what my hands were doing. "Never thought that love could feel like this, and then you changed my world with just one kiss. How can it be, theyre right here with me? Theres an angel! Its a miracle!"
"Your love is like a river, peaceful and deep. Your soul is like a secret that, I never could keep. When I look into your eyes I know that its true, God mustve spent, a little more time on you. God mustve spent, a little more time.on you! On you, on you, you. Yeah! A little more time, on you!"
The audience went crazy. "Well, so long everyone!" Joey said, waving goodbye. We exited and I breathed a sigh of relief. "Glad its over?"
"Yes," I breathed.
I saw Ann walking towards me. When she reached us, she took me in her arms. "That was beautiful!" she said.
"It was," JC agreed. "Ive never heard the audience that quiet before!"
I smiled. "Well, Im going to get out of these clothes!" I exclaimed.
"Okay," the guys laughed. "Catch ya later!"
