Chapter 16
(Christmas Eve)
My dad had been locked away for a couple of months now and I began to feel differently about men. At the moment, I was dressed in a dark blue, tight fitting dress, standing in the Bingham High School gymnasium for the Christmas Dance.
Right now, the DJ was playing Mariah Carey�s "Christmas." "May I have this dance?" Looking to my left, I saw Matt.
Smiling, I said, "Sure." He grabbed my hand and pulled me onto the dance floor with everyone else. We danced until the song ended, then he went to dance with somebody else. Turning around, I almost ran into a figure. "Justin!" I exclaimed.
He smiled at me as "Under My Tree" began to play. "Would you care to dance?" he asked me.
"Alright," I said. He smiled at me and I was once again taken out to the dance floor.
Justin grabbed my hand with one of his hands and put the other on my waist. I looked up into his soft blue eyes and he looked into mine. "I�m sorry," he said.
"For what?" I wondered.
"That one day when I was at your house and you were in your robe." I looked down at the floor. "I really don�t know what I was thinking!"
"You�re forgiven," I said.
He looked at me with a relieved smile on his face. We finished dancing, then Justin let go and clapped. "Can I steal her from you?" I saw JC watching us.
"She�s all yours!" Justin gave my hand to JC�s and left.
JC wrapped his arms around my waist and I wrapped mine around his neck. "My friend would like to dedicate this song to a very special lady," I heard Justin announced. "Alyssa, this one�s for you!" The music for "God Must�ve Spent, A Little More Time On You" began to play.
I looked at JC and we stared into each other�s eyes. JC began to lean forward and touched my lips. We stood there with our lips locked, then I began to feel my body being pulled closer and closer to his until our bodies touched. JC ran his fingers through my hair while the other hand remained on my waist.
When our lips finally parted, we looked into each other�s eyes. "I love you!" he whispered.
"I love you, too!" Once again our lips touched once again. "This is the best night of my life!" I whispered as the song ended.
