Chapter 15
My dad was cutting off the circulation in my arm as we stepped off the elevator. We went into the parking lot and stopped beside a black Jag.
Cautiously, I climbed in the passengers seat. "Dad," I said as he pulled out of his parking spot. "Im really hungry. Can we go to Home Town Buffet?"
"Sure," he said. "We can catch up on all the lost time while we eat!"

He pulled into the parking lot of Home Town Buffet and we both stepped out. My dad began to head into the restaurant, while I looked over at the field. "Aint ya coming in?" he asked me.
"No," I muttered under my breath and ran over to the field. I could hear my dad cuss as he began to chase after me.
I flew across the busy street and into the park. Once my feet hit the green grass, I placed my hands on my knees and caught my breath.
Then, I began to hear the honking of horns. Looking in the street, I saw a red faced man stomping across the street. He seemed to be unaware that there was traffic, but fortunately for him, the traffic was aware of him.
I ran as fast as my feet could carry me, but I tripped as my ankle was pulled out from underneath me. I lay on my back staring up into the face of my furious father.
"What in the heck were you thinking!?!" he asked me as he lowered a fist onto me. "You said you were hungry, so I took you to eat." Another fist came down on me. "Is this the way you thank me!?!" Fist after fist came down on me.
Suddenly, the punching stopped. I looked up at his pale face, and then I heard it. Sirens. He got off of me and began to run, but I grabbed his ankle and tripped him.
The police were starting to get out of their car. I felt my breath being taken away as he kicked my stomach.
I heard the running feet of the policemen as they ran after them. One kneeled beside me and asked, "Are you alright, miss?"
I nodded. "Just go get him," I breathed. The man stood up and began to run after my father.
Minutes later, I heard the sound of another police car. Then I heard something that it seemed I hadnt heard forever. "Alyssa!" someone called to me.
Squinting, I saw a tall figure climb out of the car and run over to me. "JC!" I breathed. I tried to sit up, but couldnt.
"Are you alright?" he asked, kneeling beside me.
"Ive had better days," I chuckled.
He wrapped an arm around my back and helped sit me up. I leaned against him as I began to feel lightheaded. "You okay?"
"A little light headed," I gulped. I wrapped my arms around his neck as he lifted me up and carried me over to a nearby bench. He seated me down beside him and wrapped his arms around me.
Within a couple of minutes later, we heard some more sirens. JC and I looked over at the ambulance as a couple of men got out and started working towards me.
They began to clean my wounds and JC sat in silence, just watching me. "Thank you!" I said as they left.
"So, are you ready to go?" JC asked, once again wrapping his arms around me.
"Not until I see if they caught him." We sat, looking out over the park.
Suddenly, the bushes began to move and I saw a uniformed man step out from behind him. Then, I saw two other officers holding my handcuffed father.
They came over to me. "Is this the man?" one of them asked me and I nodded. "What am I to charge him with?"
"Child abuse and murder of Natasha Monson and Marianne Wilson," I informed them. My father looked at me pleadingly, but I ignored him.
"Do you have anything youd like to say to him before we take him, miss?" the other cop asked.
"I dont have anything to say, but I do have something Id like to give him." JC looked at me questioningly as I stood up. I looked at my father, then raised a fist and brought it down on him.
"You have the right to remain silence. Anything you say can and will be used against you in the court of law," an officer began reciting as they dragged my father away.
"That felt so good," I said, shaking my wrist. "Except now my hand is a little sore."
"Here, let me kiss it better," JC said, taking my hand. He lowered his lips onto it and kissed it. "Does that feel better?" he asked, looking up into my eyes.
"My hand does," I stated, "but my forehead doesnt." He gently kissed my forehead. "And my cheek." JC gently touched my bruised cheek with his lips. "My lips," I whispered. We looked into each others eyes, and then he began to lean forward.
Our lips touched, and warmth spread throughout my whole body. JC gently stroked my cheek and I ran my fingers through his hair. Our lips parted as we heard someone clearing their throats. We blushed as we saw the four other members of Nsync standing above us.
We then began to giggle and JC said, "Come on, lets go back!"
