Chapter 11

The limo parked and I jumped out of the car. "Ann!" I cried. I began to rush into the house when a hand grabbed me. "Let me go!" I pleaded. I was flung around and faced JC. "I have to get her out of there!" I said, trying to loosen his grip.

"Let the firemen do it," JC begged.

"You don't understand!" I cried. The tears began to come. "Please, JC!" I begged.

"No." I tried to loosen his grip on me once more, but failed.

"JC! You don't understand!" I cried again. "I need her! I.." Tears poured down my cheek.

"Shh!" JC said and hugged me. I hugged him back and cried on his shoulder. "Let's go back in the car," he suggested, but I shook my head.

I stared at the door. Ann, please come out of there! I begged. I stood in JC's arm, watching the house burn down to the ground. Finally, I saw something. A fireman was carrying a woman out of the house. "Ann!" I said, rushing over to her.

They laid her on the ground. "Ann!" I said, "It's Alyssa!"

"Alyssa?" she said. She looked at me and I grabbed her hand.

"What happened?" I asked.

"D-Dirk-"

"He did this!?!" I cried and she slowly nodded her head. "Don't worry, I'll-"

"Promise me that you'll stay away from him." I stared at her. "Promise me that you won't go hunting him down."

"I promise," I breathed.

"Stay with the guys at all time," she ordered me. "Don't go anywhere without them." I nodded. "And promise me that you'll tell them what's going on. They need to know what they're up against."

"I will," I said. She squeezed my hand. "You're going to be alright!"

Slowly, she shook her head. "When I die, you have to promise me you'll be strong. Promise me that you won't sit around feeling sorry."

I nodded. "T-Tell mom I love her!" I sobbed. She nodded her head, then she closed her eyes. "Ann? Ann!" I said. "Please don't, Ann! I need you!"

I felt arms wrap around me. "Let's go." I shook my head. JC had to pry my fingers away from my aunt's.

"She's just sleeping," I said as we walked towards the limo. I turned around and began to run back, but JC was in my way. "Let me go, please!" I sobbed.

JC picked me up and carried me back to the car. I remained on his lap and cried on his shoulder. Eventually, I ended up falling asleep.

"Do they know what caused it?" I heard JC's voice ask. I kept my eyes closed, hoping that I would wake up when this nightmare was over. "Alright, thank you!"

"Anything?" Lance asked.

"They found gasoline," JC sighed. "They're starting to think it was suicide."

"Suicide!?!" Joey repeated. "Why would she want to kill herself?"

"She didn't," I said, my eyes closed.

I could feel the guys' eyes on me. "You're awake?" JC asked.

Opening my eyes, I said, "Yep."

"How long?" Justin asked.

"Long enough." Sitting up, I looked around the room I was in. There were two beds straight across from me and blankets spread out on the ground. "Where am I?" I asked.

"In our hotel room," Chris answered.

"You said your aunt didn't commit suicide," JC said, "Why do you think that?"

"I don't think that, I know that!"

"Okay, how do you KNOW that?" JC asked.

"Because I know who did," I muttered.

The guys looked at me. "Who?" Lance asked.

I put my head in my ands. I felt somebody sit beside me, then I felt an arm around me. "If you tell us who caught the house on fire, the police will arrest them!" I heard JCs sweet voice. "Please tell us!"

"I cant," I whispered. "Not right now!"

"The sooner you tell us, the sooner the cops will catch them!"

Lifting my head from my hands, I stared at the white wall across from me. "I promise Ill tell once Im ready to," I pledged.
