~Prologue~
"JUSTIN RANDALL TIMBERLAKE!" Lynn yelled ather son, folding her arms over her chest, her face red with anger.
Justin looked up from the ground to his mother. "Yes momma?" he replied, looking back down to the ground.
"Look at your pants! They're a mess & we have to get to leavin' soon. What do you have to say for yourself?"
"I'm sorry..." he whispered, feeling terrible for getting his pants dirty after Lynn had told him not to.
Suddenly Lynn felt awful for yelling at him, but she knew he had to learn. Today was the day Justin was supposed to meet his Aunt Jess, Lynn's best friend since fifth grade, who was practically her sister. Lynn & Jess hadn't seen each other since they were sixteen & Jess had to move away. Though they kept in touch, it just wasn't the same as being friends in person. But now, Jess had just recently bought a place near Lynn's & both ladies were excited to see each other again for the first time in nearly ten years.
Lynn sighed & leaned down, rubbing his cheek softly. "It's alright honey... Just, go upstairs & change your pants, okay?"
"Alright," Justin replied.
Lynn watched as Justin turned & ran inside.
Justin ran upstairs & into his room. Taking a quick glance at the calendar, he noted the day's date: April 17, 1989. He didn't know what to expect today, but he could tell by how happy Lynn was, it was a big event for them. He slid out of his tan dress pants & pulled on a pair of black dress pants. He raced downstairs to see Lynn waiting for him by the door with keys in her hand.
"Ready momma," he smiled.
"Let's go then," Lynn grinned as she opened the door & walked outside with Justin to their pick up truck & got in, starting the engine. Pulling out of the driveway, Lynn drove to the address Jess had givenher when she first called with the news that she had bought a place in Millington. When she finally pulled into the driveway of Jess' new home, Lynn smiled at the sight of Jess sitting on the front step with a little girl. She turned off the engine, parking the truck.
Jess got up, followed by the little girl, & walked to the truck, embracing Lynn in a hug when she got out.
"Oh, it's so great to see you, Lynn!" Jess laughed as Lynn hugged back.
"It's so great to see you too, Jess!" Lynn smiled, tears brimming in her eyes as they let go of each other. "How have you been? You look great!" Lynn gushed, looking over her friend. "God you've changed so much!"
"Oh, you look great too, Lynn!" Jess giggled. "I've been great myself, what about you? Still with that Randy fellow?"
"No, we divorced. We're still friends though. I couldn't bare to keep Lil Justin from his daddy."
"I don't blame you any..."
The conversation between the two ladies got to be too boring for Justin, so he tuned them out & looked around the yard, searching with his eys for an item or animal to watch, when his eyes landed on the little girl that Jess had been sitting with when they pulled in the driveway. He smiled at her & she returned the smile. He slipped by the two ladies that were still chatting away & approached her.
"Hello," Justin smiled, extending his hand. "I'm Justin Randall Timberlake. It's very nice to meet you."
The little girl smiled & shook his hand. "Hi, I'm Kathryn Michelle Laurence. It's nice to meet you too."
The two children hadn't noticed it yet, but the two ladies were watching the two bond. And the ladies knew a friendship was forming right before their eyes.
