| Part Two: "Hello?" Justin asked into the reciever. Nervously, Lauren twirled a strand of her hair around her index finger and bit her bottom lip. "Hello?" he asked again. Inhaling deeply, Lauren responded, "Hi Justin..." "Who is this?" Justin asked a little more seriously, "And how did you get this number?" "This is Lauren...Lauren Mullani..." Justin's eyes widened, "Ren?" he asked in disbelief. "Yeah," she said softly, "I'm sorry for calling you up like this, but I am kind of stuck int he middle of something." "Are you okay? Are you hurt? Are you sick?" he asked jumping to conclusions. "No, nothing like that!" Lauren declared, "But there is something you need to know before I tell you why I called..." she explained. His ears perked up intently as he listened to the information coming through the receiver. "Cane you come up? I really need to talk to you in person..." "Sure," Justin replied softly, still blown away from what she had just said, "I'll be down there as soon as I can today." "One more thing," Lauren whispered, "Please don't tell Lance." "Baby, you would not believe the sale they were having at Neiman Marcus today!" Ashley exclaimed falling onto the leather couch in defeat. Lance laughed, "Sweetheart, how did you pay for all this stuff?" "Your credit card, silly!" she declared letting go of her shopping bags and getting up to embrace him, "Did you get the diamond necklace for me, yet?" "Ashley, is that all you care about?" Lance asked pulling away from her. Rolling her eyes and crossing her arms in front of her chest, Ashley smacked her lips as her attitude hit it's highest, "Why do you ask me that all the time?" "Because that's how you act!" Lance declared trying to keep calm. "Are we breaking up?" Ashley asked softly. "I don't know..." Lance replied pacing around the room, "I don't want to deal with this right now!" he declared grabbing his keys off of the living room table, and heading towards the door. Ashley stomped her feet angrily, "Sure! Go running to your friends! See if I care!" she yelled throwing a vase at the door. The impact of the vase and the hard surfaced door resulted in scattering piecese of china glass hitting the floor. Much like their relationship. "Kryssy, sweetie- I'm so sorry, but I have to cut out vacation short," Justin stated walking back to the kitchen table. Krystyn looked up from her position at the table and frowned, "Why?" she asked. "I need to fly out to Chicago tonight. I'm sorry, honey. I know this vacation was supposed to be special, but an old friend of mine needs my help," he replied softly wrapping his arms around her tiny waist. "Who?" she asked placing a hand on her hip and pulling away from him, "Baby, this always happens. Everytime we have the slightest time together, someone calls, and you leave..." she whispered looking away from his eyes. She walked around the table, and started to clear the dishes off. "Krys, I'm really sorry, but this friends really needs my help," he declared following her body frame to the kitchen sink. "Who is she?" she asked spinning around to look him in his crystal blue eyes, "Who is she? Who's this chick who just can't wait to get your help?" Smirking slightly, Justin grazed his eyes on her entire body, "You're jealous..." "I am not!" Krystyn declared turning around to place the dishes in the sink. "Yes you are!" Justin laughed wrapping her in an embrace from behind. Sighing deeply, Krystyn shrugged, "Whatever- go if you must. I'll stay here and watch the movies by myself, and I'll go to bed tonight by myself..." Justin spun her around and kissed her forehead, "I promise I won't be gone for long. Please don't be mad at me, sweetie." He said leaning down to crash his lips on hers sweetly. He pulled away and nuzzled his nose in the crook of her neck. Her brown highlighted hair fell in front of her face as he swayed her back and forth. "When I get back, we'll have our vacation all to ourselves. I promise..." he whispered as he tugged on the waistband of her low cut jeans. Changing the channel again, Lauren looked up at the clock on the wall and yawned. It was already midnight, and the city was bustling out of her window. A lot of things were running through her mind, but only one thing stood out. Lance. Her living room was pitch black except for the illuminating light the TV was giving off. Flipping the channel again, Lauren settled on the Late Night Show with jay Leno. "He's one of the five members of the biggest group in the world, and he's here to tell us all about his new movie. Please welcome ladies and gentlemen, Lance Bass!" Jay Leno said through the TV. Sighing deeply, Lauren watched her broken heart step onto natinal television. She had the option of turning off the TV and going to bed, but her heart was too heavy on her senses to rest up, and her heart was telling her to keep her eyes glued to the TV- no matter how heavy her eyelids felt. "Why are you still with Ashley if she makes you so unhappy?" Joey asked as they exited the NBC studio. "She doesn't make me unhappy..." Lance stated trying to persuade Joey; and mostly himself. Joey shook his head in disagreement as they hopped into the black Escalade parked by the curb. "Dude, you're in total denial! |
