Untitled
Main Character: Shania (Shawn-ya) Crickmore
She was in the middle of drying her hair when the phone rang. "Ugh, always when I'm in the middle of something" she grunted as she ran and jumped into the bed to get the phone. "hello?" She said and flung back her damp blonde hair.

"Hey Shania, its Phil"
"Phil, what are you doing calling and bothering on my day off for?" she questioned.
"I know, I'm really sorry to bother you..."
Shania rolled her eyes. "but?"
"But....I need you to come in and take an assignment"
"What??!, you know I RARELY get days off, other than every sunday!"
"Yeah I know, but this assignment is perfect for you, trust me, your going to love it!"
Shania gave out a big sigh. "ok fine, I'll be there in an hour. Is that ok with you?"
"Yeah its alright. Thanks for coming in Shania, your a doll!" He hung up the phone.
"Yeah, I'm a doll alright...on STRINGS!" She said to the phone and put it back on the hook.

She turned around and laid on her back. "I wonder why this assignment is so perfect for me" She said while yawning. She rubbed her eyes and sat up. "Now back to what I was doing before I was so rudely inturupted"  She got back to the hair dryer and finished her hair. She threw it up into a fast pony tail. After that she slipped on her most comfortable outfit, which consisted of flared jeans, a tank top, and a sweater. "I hope Phil doesn't expect me to get all dressed up to come into work on my day off" She added a bit of eye liner to accent her beautiful blue eyes, and applied some powder. "There now I'm acceptable" she told the mirror. She grabbed her keys from off the kitchen table and her purse, before she left out the door. She locked her house and walked over to her car. "Shania" an elderly voice shouted. Shania turned around. "I thought you had today off"     She smiled. "Well I did Mr. Bently, you were right. But apparently they have some special assignment for me that I must take today" "Oh I'm so sorry" he replied. "So am I" she said as she unlocked the driverside  door. "See you later" she shouted before she closed the door. Mr. Bently waved. Shania pulled out of her drive way and headed to work.

She smiled to the receptionist as she made her way to the elevator.  " Mornin' Ms. Crickmore!" The receptionist said. "Morning Ruby" Shania said while running to the elevator, that was about to close. "Thank you sir" She said to the nice man who held the elevator for her. "No problem, what floor?" "10 please" She smiled kindly. After she got to her floor, she walked down a hallway filled with doors. She made a left and opened the first door on her right. The window on the door read "Phil Miller Editor and Cheif".

"Shania!" Phil said with open arms. She greeted him with a hug and a smile.
"You aren't dressed up" He said as he looked her over.
"No, I'm not, your very observant, but its because it technically still is my day off" She glared at him.
"Oh yes, I guess your dressed fine then" he admited.
"So whats this assignment thats so perfect for me?" She asked as she sat down in Phils chair and rested her feet up on his desk.
"Here take a look" He handed her a folder.
She put her feet down and opened it. She read over the papers and looked up at Phil. She put down the papers and cupped her hands together, then started to speak.

"So your telling me that these papers that I just read over, are the assignment that is just perfect for me?"
"yeah" Phil said uneasily. Shania glared at Phil again.
"You want me to write a review?"
"Yes, I'm sure your talents will shine through in this review!" Phil said happily.
"Phil, I'm a movie critic, and this is not a movie that I am reviewing!"
" I know, but your the youngest reviewer we have on the team, your in to what the younger people are in too."
"Phil I'm 25" she interrupted.
" Yes but look at you, look how your dressed, bell bottoms...."
"flares" she sighed.
"Oh um flares, a sweater, you look just like a teenager"
"dont you know the saying 'dont judge a book by its cover' ? Just because I look like a teen doesnt mean I like and do everything they do" "Please Shania. Your the only one I have for this assignment" He pleaded.
Shania thought about it for a long while.
"I will take this assignment.....on one condition."
Phils face lit up. "Oh anything!"
"If I get a vacation when I want it" She smirked.
"uh...well how long would this vacation be?"
"4  weeks?"
"A month!!! no I'm sorry, how about 2 weeks?"
Shania gasped "Thats barely anytime to get over a cold! How about 3 1/2 weeks?"
" 3 weeks"
"deal!" They shook hands.
"I'm going to regret this deal" Phil sighed. Shania was so delighted about her new vacation agreement that hugged Phil and gave him a kiss on the cheek.
"I love being able to do that to my boss"
"If I wasnt your uncle, I could have you fired for that." He smiled. Shania returned that smile and picked up her new assignment off the desk and headed to her office. She walked through the maze of offices again and got to hers. She entered, turned on the lights and  hung her purse on the coat rack as she walked to her desk. She opened the blinds and plopped down in her chair then laid out the papers on her desk. "Lets see here, I have to write a review about......." A knock came from her door. She looked up and noticed the silouette of the person.  "Curly hair, who can that be?" "Come in" she yelled and then stood up. The figure walked in.
"Walter! I couldn't tell it was you. You've changed your hair" Shania ran toward him and gave him a loving hug.
"Hey sunshine. I heard you had to come in on your day off"
"Yeah thats why I'm here now."   "Sit, please sit" Shania pulled up a seat for her friend. She sat facing him from behind her desk. "So what have you been up too?" Shania asked Walter.
"Oh I can't stay long, I just needed to drop this off. It's part of your new assignment, Phil told me"
"Oh I see how it is, you didn't just visit to say hi"    Shania pretended to cry.
" awww you know I would If I could hun, but I'm on my way to work on my story/" He patted her on the back. She sniffled ans whiped away pretend tears. "I understand." she smiled and took the envelope he came to give her.
"Well bye sunshine!." he said while getting up and walking to the door. "Bye Wally!" she giggled. He laughed and shook his head. "I got to find a name I can call you." She grinned.
"Well I'll think of one later." he opened the door and exited.
She set the new envelope aside and looked at the papers again. "this event isn't for another 5 days!" She pressed a button on her phone.
