| This was my first ever story so be nice on this one...please. Chapter 1 "Stop chasing me! What did I ever do to you?" Alex asked Justin as she ran away from him. "You stole some of my oreos! So give me some of your goldfish!" "Never in a million years!" 5 year old Alex was running toward her house when she crashed into her 11 year old brother Jordan. "Whoops! Sorry Jordan." "Hey Alex, mom wants you and Justin to clean up the mess you guys made in your room." "Do I hafta?" "yes!" "Okay! Jeesh! Fine! C'mon Justin." "You know, I really like your room Alex. It's way bigger than mine." 6 year old Justin said. "Well my mommy's a lawyer and daddy's a doctor and I guess they have a lot of money." Alex was very smart for her age and was in 1st grade instead of going to kindergarten. So on the first day of school, she went to class and met Justin, who sat in the seat next to her. "Hiya, I'm Justin. What's your name?" "Alex." "Alex..nice to meet ya." And that was how they met. It was already the third week of school at Dunn and they already were very good friends. They found out that they lived only 3 houses away from each other, and went over to each other's house every day. ~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*8 years later*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~ "I'm not a very good singer like you, Justin." "Well, just try, and you'll get the part. Mrs. Shelley isn't that mean." "Well okay, Whatever you say." "Next is...Alex" Mrs. Shelley called out. "Okay. I'm going in. Wish me luck!" (A/N: lol. I've always wanted to use that line.) Justin waited outside the choir door at Lesher Junior High and listened to Alex trying out for Chamber Choir. The highest choir they would offer at the school. "Now Alex, I just want you to sing the C Major scale for me. Do you think you can do that?" "Yes." "Okay, then here's middle C." As Justin pressed his ears to the door to listen, Mr. Raegan, the Boys' P.E. Teacher came right next to him and started talking. "So Justin, I see you did real well in our basketball unit, but yet pretty badly in the badminton one." "Er..." "But your basketball skills more than made up for your bad grades, and I was thinking, have you thought about trying out for the basketball team?" "Well yeah, but I don't know if I can do it. See my parents just got divorced and I don't know where I can get $50. Without asking my parents." "Justin, do you have free or reduced lunch?" "Free..or..reduced...lunch?" Justin said slowly. "Yes." Mr. Raegan said. "If you have free lunch, you don't have to pay the money. Reduced lunch, you only have to pay 25 dollars." Then he looked at his watch. Whoops, I better go. But go to the office if you want to look into it." "Er..yes...sir(?)" Just then, Alex came out the door smiling. "I got in, Justin! I got in!" She started jumping all around and bouncing across the walls. "Yes! You did it! I knew you could!" As soon as the words left his mouth, a big shadow fell across them. |
