| Chapter 35 Part 2 |
| After about 20 minutes of arguing over who would drive everyone was in their cars. The guys couldn't ride in the police cars since people were bound to see them and wild rumors about why the show was cancelled last night had already started. They all piled into the black SUV and much to Justin's dislike Nick was driving. The car ride was silent as everyone wondered what would happen once they did arrive. Justin's thoughts were so busy worrying about Mackenzie, he didn't even realize that only about a mile from where he was his cell phone was left in his hotel room ringing as the caller prayed he'd answer. Justin sighed as he looked out the window at the pouring rain. This was all his fault. If he hadn't of kissed Cara then Mackenzie would have been with him instead of alone in her room. They had already been driving for an hour and a half when Nick's cell phone rang. "Hello?" he said as he tucked it between his head and his shoulder. "Ok...are you sure?....What are they going to do?....I see...ok...Thanks...yeah....bye." "Who was that?" Justin asked quickly, this being the first time he talked the whole car ride. "That was one of the police officers. Everything is fine. We are going to be there in about 15 minutes." Nick said concentrating on his driving. "Nick, don't lie to me." Justin said getting frustrated that everyone was trying to shelter him. Nick signed another time before trying to find the right words to say, "Guys...there was an explosion in the warehouse...not a big one but an explosion none the less. They don't know what to do but wait until everyone gets there..." Justin didn't know what to say. His heart stopped as the words came out, the idea of Mackenzie being in that building and then there was explosion... "J, it's going to be ok." Joey said But Justin didn't answer. He just kept staring at the window waiting to get there. The next 15 minutes had been the longest minutes of his life. Pulling up to the area around the warehouse Justin noticed a small fire truck that had just finished putting out the fire the explosion had caused. Police had set up behind their car doors as they called for who ever was in there to come out of the building. Justin and the guys had never seen anything like this before in their lives except for the movies, but this was a real as it got. Justin made a move and opened the door but Nick caught his arm. "Stay here, Justin." He said firmly but Justin merely looked at him and stepped out side as the rest of the guys followed. "Nick, we've always listened to you but this is a time where we can't." JC said before stepping out. Nick made no move to stop them. JC was right and Nick knew that if he were in their position he would have done the same. After about 5 minutes nothing happened and the police officers went inside to check out the building and Justin followed. "I'm sorry, I can't let you in there." said an officer as he blocked Justin out of the way, "It's not safe." "Do I look like I care?" Justin said as he quickly walked around him but Nick stopped him from going any further. "You agreed. I let you out of the car but there is no way in hell that you are going into that building." He said ever more firmly than before. Justin stepped back as the rest of the guys came over and stood with him. "Justin, as much as I hate to admit it, Nick's right." Chris said patting him on the back. Almost as soon as they went in the building, they came out. Justin looked at each of them looking to see if anyone was carrying anything but there was nothing. "What's going on?" he said to the guys before they all ran up next to Nick who was talking to a man who seemed to be in charge. "Nick, whats going on?" Lance asked but Justin could tell by the looks on their face that this wasn't right. "No one is in there." Justin said staring at the building, "It was a...a trick wasn't it?" he said in a monotone voice. The officer just stared at Justin and nodded, "There is something in there I think you all should see." he said before turning around and leading them into the building. They made it through the front door before seeing a large table in the middle of the room. On the table was pieces of a picture upside down put together like a puzzle with scotch tape holding it together and the same red handwriting on the back. "It's another picture." Justin said looking at it from far away. "What?" the officer said "A picture with writing on the back...they did it before." he said walking quickly to the table and reading the message. "You thought you had me, huh. It's not going to be that easy, Timbershit. She's with me now...and you....can't.....have.....her!" Furry filled through Justin as he punched the side of the table causing it to break in half. "Damnit!" he yelled, "Where the hell are they?" He picked up the picture and turned it over and his heart stopped. "Oh my God." Justin said as he cupped his mouth with his hand and collapsed on the floor. "J, are you ok? Justin?" JC said as he and Joey helped him stand. "The...the picture." Justin stuttered. "Guys?" Lance said picking it up off the floor. "Look at this." Lance walked over and showed them the most horrible picture they had ever seen. It was a gruesome picture of Mackenzie in the backseat of a car, he clothes ripped and bloodstained. Her hands and ankles were tied together and bruises had already formed on them. Her eyes where closed and there was a piece of paper lying on top of her stomach. They looked at the words on the sign, "I'm not...who you think I am..." Joey read, "What the hell does that mean?" he asked as Nick came in the room. "It means that we've been set up. Sam didn't do this." Justin said in a dead voice. |
