| Over the next couple of weeks Kenzie�s song was getting more and more airtime. She had made a video, which was in the top 10 on MTV�s Total Request Live, and she couldn�t be happier. She had been getting offers to perform on radio shows, she had done many interviews, and in a few days she was actually going to be on TRL. JC and the guys had been calling her almost every other day, mostly to just say hi and see how she was doing. It felt good to have people support her. Not a day went by that she didn�t think about what she had said to Justin. She didn�t know where she got the spunk to go at him like she did but in all honestly she liked the feeling that she got when she stood up for herself. Mr. Martins had been angry with her that night for going out with the guys and not telling him. In his words hanging around Nsync would only cause damage to her career. �I don�t want you near those boys again! Do you hear me?� Mr. Martins forbade. �Oh and why not?� she yelled back �Because I said so. It�s not a good idea.� � You can�t just forbid me to hang out with them and not give me a reason why!� Mr. Martins sighed and continued, �There will be too many rumors floating around about you and the guys, especially you and Justin. Justin is the worst one you could be around since you two are both the same age. They just left their manager and they don�t need the press attacking them about your relationship with them.� �My relationship with them? What relationship? I just met them and believe me Justin and I will keep our distance without your help. I don�t care about any rumors and neither do the guys. They understand that or they wouldn�t have invited me along with them. If anything they are helping my career. You can�t tell me that I cannot record that song with them because of rumors. I don�t care what you say but I am not staying away from them. I�m sorry, but no!� She jumped out of the chair and slammed his office door shut. �That girl needs to learn how to keep her mouth shut or I might be teaching her a very important lesson.� The conversation kept playing over and over in her head. She could understand that he didn�t want her around them because of the rumors that had been circulating but there was something else that he wasn�t telling her. She had talked to the guys and it turned out that they were both going to be in Orlando at the same time. The guys would be in Orlando for about 2 weeks finishing up recording and she would be there for 3 days promoting her album. She had actually left California a day early so she could spend extra time in Florida and have a day off. �We have now landed at Orlando International Airport here in Orlando Florida. The time is 10:45 am. Thank you for flying Delta airways and enjoy your stay.� The pilot�s voice sounded over the speakers. Mackenzie picked up here things and walked out into the terminal with Jenna and Jeremy, her newly appointed bodyguard. She was excited to be in Orlando but nothing could have prepared her for the sounds of screaming when she walked out of the terminal. Mackenzie looked around at the people screaming wondering if there was some one else on the plane she should have known about but when she saw the signs with her name on it she knew these were her fans. She waved and smiled at them all before turning around and bumping into something. � Oh, I�m so sor�JC? What are you doing here?� she said turning around seeing JC standing behind her wearing baggy clothes, sunglasses, and a baseball hat. �Kenzie, I can�t believe you didn�t tell us that you where coming today! I had no idea.� �Oh that�s why all these people are here.� Mackenzie said sadly. �No, Kenz. These people are to see you. Look at all these signs. No one knows that I�m � ya know� me. I�m here because my parents and my sister are flying down from Maryland today. Their flight just landed and I told them I�d meet them here.� He turned around when he heard someone call his name. �Speaking of my family�� he said when his Mom, Dad, and sister all came walking up behind him. �Mom, Dad, Heather this is Mackenzie Hope, her assistant Jenna, and her bodyguard Jeremy. Jeremy is Nick's younger brother. Ya know, Justin's bodyguard." �Hi it�s a pleasure to meet you.� Mackenzie said shaking their hands. �The pleasure is all ours sweetie. We have heard so much about you! From what I hear the guys are really excited about doing a song with you! I haven't heard it yet but I'm sure it�s going to be just lovely." Mrs. Chasez said "Thank you. Umm I hate to be rude but all these people are here and I want to go say hi to them since it's basically the first ti-" Kenzie started to say "No problem sweetie. Go ahead." Mrs. Chasez "Thank you! Jenna talk to them!" She said while turning around to talk to the fans. "What a sweet girl." Mr. Chasez said shaking Jenna's hand. "She can be." Jenna said jokingly. "Are you all joining us today?" Mrs. Chasez asked politely "Joining you where?" Jenna asked confused "Well, I didn't invite them because I didn't know they were going to be here today, but yeah you guys have to come now that you are here!" JC said reaching his hand into his pocket. "We would love to come since we don't have anything else scheduled for today, but are we allowed to know what we have been invited to?" Jenna asked shifting her carry-on bag from one shoulder to the other. "To Lynn's house. We are having a barbeque; all of our families' are coming. You guys have to come!" JC pleaded. "I'd love to, but are you sure it's a good idea to have Kenzie over Justin's house?" "It's not Justin's house it's his Mom's and Lynn wanted Kenzie to come in the first place." "Alright then we will see you there!" JC gave them directions to Justin's house and told Jenna he'd see them later. About 30 minutes later Mackenzie gave everyone an autograph and started to leave the airport beaming with excitement. "Can you believe that all those people where here for me? I mean there weren't that many but still! That was so cool!" Mackenzie said laughing. Jenna looked at her friend and smiled at her, "Come on we gotta get ready!" "To go where?" Kenzie asked while Jenna dragged her into the small van that was taking them to their hotel. "The guys are having a barbeque at Lynn's house. They want you there. Please don't complain about not wanting to go because Justin's going to be there. Everyone wants you there. Even Justin, he just doesn't want to admit it yet." |
