Lauren's Concert Experience
St. Louis
June 28 2000
I wrote this the day after the concert, and back then I was like oh cool NSYNC, whatever. I got the tickets for my birthday from a friend of the family, so I wasn't one who sat in line for hours. But AFTER the concert, I was ALL ABOUT NSYNC. Or so I say, "that's when the obsession began"!!
(For the second concert I went to, I WAS one of the people waiting for hours in line! We were second!!) I really give credit to the guys for putting on such a spectacular show that anyone who sees it can't HELP but like them. It's really obvious they work their butts of and have fun doing it! So here's all about my concert
6-28-00 was my very first NSYNC concert in St. Louis. We went to the Keil Center (formerlly Keil, now it's the Savvis Center) for the concert. It was totally, completely and absolutely awesome. The opening acts were some Ron Irrizary, and then "Boys and Girls United" and then PINK. She was pretty awesome. She came out with some detective music and trench coats and they all took off their hats but one, and it was her. She sang a couple of songs, and the last one was "There You Go." Then it was time for *NSYNC. They came down on the stage from puppet strings like in the video and floated on the stage. Then those strings were cut, but they had other invisible strings on, and they floated up again.
Their first song was "No Strings Attached". Through out the whole show were fireworks, torches, confetti, and lasers. They sang their new songs on the CD and some of their old ones. During my favorite song, "I Thought She Knew", they were sitting on a couch and reclining chairs. My favorite part of the show was when part of the stage disconnected and raised up and wheeled out in the aisle of the audience. They were singing "This I Promise You". That was really cool. A couple of them threw their sweat towels out into the audience. During the song "It Makes Me Ill", they came out dressed as doctors with Justin on a
stretcher. For the first line of the song, he pops up and starts singing. During "Digital Digital Get Down", they had white outfits that has glow in the dark things on different parts of their body. During God Must Have Spent, they were raised above the stage on 5 different platforms, and for Space Cowboy, they sunk into the floor, and Digital Get Down, they broke through a screen. For Just Got Paid, they had a club scene with thier bouncer dude and some girls actually got to dance on stage! During costume changes, they had interactive things on the big screen. One was TNL (Total NSYNC Live), with Ananda from MTV, where we got to pick the song they would sing (Three Blind Mice, Twinkle Twinkle Little Star, or Tearin' Up My Heart). Another was Lance Bass on "Who Wants To Be A Millionaire". We got to tell him the right answer with our screams when he polled the audience. Another stage break was a weird talking head. That was strange. Justin also did his beat box thing. He has a competition sort of with his drummer man. That was awesome. He's really good at that. Their last song was of course "Bye Bye Bye". They came out dressed in black robes and hoods, and they walked up over the arched platform in front of an orange sunset on the screen. Then they came down on the stage and threw off their robes and did the whole dance from the video. They did dances for almost every song. That was really cool because they had awesome moves and they're good dancers. My personal faves- The guys humping the stage during Digital Get Down, and slapping their butts during "Booty shakin, all
around" of Just Got Paid. The stage was neat- it was white tile looking stuff and it had a couple of levels. One step was lined with thousands of little white lights, and they lit up in synchronization with the music. When they all lit up at once, it was really bright. There were green lasers that shined out over the entire Keil Center. The best was to look over the audience, and all you see is green and blue light sticks waving around everywhere. That was very cool. It was really loud- thousands of girls screaming their hearts out. I screamed and clapped and sang and danced, but I didn't lose my voice. It was strange when we came out- it sounded like every one was talking like Minnie Mouse and there was cotton in my ears!!! It was one of the best nights of my life and I am so happy that I got the chance to go, because it was my first ever concert. Since then I have seen NSYNC again in St. Louis, but I will never forget my very first concert.
