I went to the Oakland concert on June 11, 2000. My sister and I got to the arena around 3pm. My plan was to find Steve (Joey's bro) and get him to let us backstage, but we saw the radio stations and all hell broke loose. We got all the goody bags and took them back to the car. Then my sis was at the Wild 94.9 (San Francisco station) bus and I was at a different one when she comes running over telling me to come take pics of the cute guys on top of the bus and that they were giving stuff away. So we ran over there and man those to guys who took off the shirts were so cute! I took about 23 pics of them! lol. I didn't even know who they were.
I live in Stockton & I don't get in that station. At one point they were letting people on the bus to hang with the guys and gets pics and autographs. My sis & I plus these two other girls that we were talking too were close to the door along with some other girls and the bodyguard or whatever you wanna call him was like you guys can get on when they get off in 5 minutes. Well we never got on the bus. It sucked. Then when the guys were throwing the glowsticks, there were 2 times when I almost got one.
First Ryan looked right at me and kinda motioned that he was gonna throw the glowstick to me (i was in front), so i got ready to catch it & some chick grabs it before i can. Then the same thing happened when Dom motioned that he was gonna toss me one. I finally did get a glowstick though. It just kinda fell into me. lol I hugged it for dear life. Especially when they mentioned that whoever got a glowstick would have a chance to win bsp. I didn't get them though. :( So then after Dom and the guys got off the bus my sis and I each got our picture taken with Dom (whose name we still didn't know at the time - lol) and then we realized we could get his autograph too so my sis ran and got some of their cards telling about winning *N SYNC stuff. So we walk up to Dom and ask for him to sign the cards and he's like I gotta go, but ok real quick. He was so sweet. Ok so then my sis and I go and get into the arena. My sis had gotten a program and a backstage pass earlier in the afternoon. I had to wait to get my stuff cause the credit card machines didn't work.
First thing I do when we get in the arena is buy stuff. I decide that I want a backstage pass to and I needed to get one for my bro cause he wanted one. So I get $60 out of the ATM (should've gotten more) and spend it like that ::snaps fingers:: I got the backstage passes that have the pics of the guys as marionettes. My sis got the one with their real pics. Which is the one I really wanted. That kinda sucked, but its ok. I can probably find it in the stores or something.
I also got a poster book and so did my sis. Then we went off in search of our seats. We were in section 108, row 30, seats 18 & 19. And how silly of me, during the concert when I'm screaming and stuff, I'm waving to *N SYNC like they can see me from all the way up in my seats. lol So anyway then Roy Izzarary comes out and then my sis runs off to get his autograph for us after he finishes performing. She comes back way after Pink finishes her set. My sis missed the other two acts cause Roy didn't even come out till Pink finished. How stinky of him. What was nice though was that my sis was like, "Can I have one for my sister too?" and the guards had been saying only one per person, but Roy was like ok and signed another one for me. Then she comes back to our seats and
realizes she has to take her medicine. (On Saturday morning my sister realizes that her freakin wisdom teeth are coming in! She was in pain all day Saturday, but we found her some good pain killers of my moms to take to get rid of the pain. She was so glad she still got to go) So I give her some money and she goes and buys a coke, plus 2 hot dogs (one for her & one for me - neither of us had barely eaten all day from all the excitement).
And what happens the minute she comes back with the food? *N SYNC starts! We both put down our dogs and we never touched them again until after the show to throw them away! lol This was the best concert I have ever seen! 100% more incredible than their show I went to last November. The first time I saw Lance on that jumbo screen I thought I was gonna have a heart attack he looked so gorgeous! I loved the parts of the show were *N SYNC grabbed their butts during "Just Got Paid", when they humped the floor during "Digital Get Down" and when they do that horse riding thing in "Space Cowboy". Also, seeing Lance in leather pants (hey that rhymes) was a huge contribution to my heart attack! My god, that boy is so fine! All of them looked good actually. My friend had section F2 seats and she got really good looks at Lance - lucky her! After the concert, I wanted to buy some more stuff so I got another $60 out of the ATM (I am so poor already that I probably shouldn't have bought anything). I loaned my sis money for a backstage pass like mine, plus I bought myself both group pics and the pic of Lance. I also bought myself one of those bleacher seats. They were $10 before the show, but only $5 afterwards. I'm gonna hang it on my wall or something. I'm not really sure - lol. So then my sis and I find our car after realizing at first that we were looking in the wrong parking lot!
We sit and sit in the traffic that was going nowhere for about 20 minutes. During this time I realize that the Wild 94.9 bus is still there! My sis and I are like talking to each other like "hey Dom want a ride" lol. When we finally get moving, as we get closer to the exit (and the bus) we see Dom near a group of girls. So we drive by saying "Bye Dom!" hehe Then we head off the hotel that my friend had told me *NSYNC's band had stayed at on Saturday night. We were hoping that the boys had gone back there and we'd see them. Well we never saw them, not even a bus. We did get lost finding the freeway entrance though and saw all the lovely bums outside. Once on the freeway, I called my friend from section F2 (we had talked via cell phone after the concert and talked about finding the guys), she said that they'd already gone by the hotel and some girls were out there who informed them that *N SYNC had left for Seattle right after the concert. So my sis and I drive the hour home to my moms and once there I am hyper and sleepy at the same time. Eventually, after checking my email, I go to sleep.
Right now it is 2:28am on Wednesday morning and I am still hyper from the concert. I can't wait to get my pics back. I took 80 pictures! I hope they come out. From my seats they guys were real short looking, but I was mostly taking pics of the guys with the jumbo screen also in the pic so hopefully they'll be ok.
