Eternal Chapter 2
Ring Ring
"JADE!" I shouted out loud.
"WHAT�S UP?" Jadera yelled.
"Answer the phone for me, I�m busy at the moment."
"OKAY!" She said and rushed to the living room looking for the phone.
"Hello! Who�s that on the line?" Jadera asked politely.
" Hi there! May I speak to Jocelyn West?" said a young man.
" Sure, no problem. Hold on a minute." Jadera replied back.
"JOCELYN. There�s a call for you." screamed Jadera.
"OKAY! Give me a second, please." I shouted back.
A few seconds later.
"Hello, Jocelyn speaking. Who�s that on the line?"
"Hey Jocelyn, it�s me Alex."
"OH MY GOD! It�s ALEX!" I thought anxiously. I had been waiting for this call since last Monday and I can�t wait for the results. However, I didn�t want to let Alex know I�m desperate to know the results so I had to pretend real cool.
"So how�s your day, Alex?" I tried to act normal.
"Great. Thanks! Tell me how do you think you fare in the last round of audition?" Alex answered.
"Well, I�d given my best shot. The rest of the girls were awesome and everyone stands a great chance of being picked."
"So are you anxious with the result?" he asked curiously
"Yeah, of course" I replied. "Who doesn�t." I murmured.
"Okay." Alex replied.
"OKAY? What that means? Am I picked?" I pleaded as I couldn�t control my excitement any longer, "Alex, please tell me."
"Okay girl, relax!" Alex laughed, "Jenny and I love your performance very much. You have a great voice and we really enjoy your performance a lot. Okay, now is the result. We think you fit the criteria we are looking for. Congratulation to you and welcome to our big family."
""YES!!!" I screamed.
"What happen?" Jadera looked at me in a puzzled.
"Jade, I�VE MAKE IT."
"REALLY? You mean you are chosen?" Jadera asked wide-eyed.
"YEAH!" I replied and nodded my head real hard at the same time.
"OH GREAT! I�M SO HAPPY FOR YOU. I know you can make it."
Both of us hugged as were closer than any friends could ever be.
"OOPS! I have forgotten all about Alex." I shouted suddenly.
Jadera stood there looking at me and smiled. "This is probably her most happiest moment in her life" Jadera thought.
"Er� Alex, are you still there?" I sounded apologetic.
"Yeah."
"Sorry about that. I�m just� just too over excited."
"That�s okay."
"So when am I suppose to report work? Oh and who are the three girls who will be forming the group with me?"
"Relax, Jocelyn. Okay, I will need you to come to my office tomorrow at 10am. And about the three girls, well� you will know who they are when tomorrow comes."
"Okay. So I see you tomorrow."
"Yeah. See ya."
"Bye."
At night
"Jade, I just couldn�t sleep."
"So do I." I�m so excited for you."
"How I wished you were in the group too." I sighed.
"Well, I�m not as talented as you, JJ"
To me, Jadera was really good in singing and I had absolutely no idea why she got booted out in the second round.
"Hey cheer up, girl. You should be happy." Jadera tried making a funny face to cheer me up.
Jadera was exactly three months older than I was. As I was the only child in the family, she was like a big sister to me. Whenever I was upset, she would try making me happy by telling me jokes and making those funny faces. It really worked for me and I enjoyed being with her. My mom and dad were always away for business matters and so Jadera was the only who I can confided everything to.
"Oh stop that! I�m really happy for myself but�"
"Don�t worry about me, JJ. I�m fine. After all, being a singer isn�t my biggest dream. You know I always love to a poet."
"Yeah. And you are definitely writes better than me."
"Of course."
"Jadera�" I looked at her.
"Yeah."
" Thanks a lot."
"Thanks what?"
"Everything. Thanks for going to the audition with me and thanks for being my best friend. And not forgetting thanks for coming over to stay with me."
"No problem. Your parents are away and it is my duty to take good care of you."
"Hey! You sounds like a mother."
"Well� you are a little girl to me and your cooking really sucks."
"Oh yeah! Thanks for cooking for me, MOTHER." I joked.
Both of us laughed together.
"Well, I guess that you should take some sleep. It�s already 2.30am." Jadera looked at the clock, "and you have only about 5 hours of sleep."
"Okay, I will try. Good night, Jade."
"Good night, JJ."
