Pop's royal court is gathering to
salute its king.
Britney Spears, Whitney Houston and
*N SYNC are among the celebrities who will appear on CBS' "Michael Jackson:
30th Anniversary Celebration, The Solo Years", to be taped Sept. 7 and
10 at New York's Madison Square Garden for broadcast during the 2001-02
season. The special will also reunite the Jackson family for the first
time in 20 years.
The often-reclusive musician will
perform solo for the first time on stage in 11 years and will join Houston
and Spears for duets. In addition to sharing youthful success, Jackson
and Spears have both been Pepsi's choice spokes-stars in their respective
generations.
In a decades-spanning collision of
boy bands, the Jacksons will present a number with *NSYNC as well as a
medley of their past recordings.
