Young Love

This hood is sure hot, Chrissy said to her friends that surrounded her. Fords, about as hot as guys.
Her dad was the owner of the small gas station where all the local folk bought cars and pumped gas.
Chrissys blonde hair was blowing in the breeze she filed her nails with her blue emery board and her friends were talking about people they might someday meet and little things that all girls do.
Hey you see that gut in the baseball cap, Chrissy asked pointing to a boy about 59 tall with a baseball cap on washing a truck that pulled into the gas station. Id like to spend some time with a boy like that.
Dad said that hed seen him at the hardware store, Chrissy said starring at him. He said that he thinks his name is Chris, but he wasnt sure.
It had seemed like 2 hours had passed by when he passed by. She looked up and just smiled at him. Her heart skipped a beat when he said hi.

As Chris walked away, he was thinking to himself, Man Id like to find a girl, like her someday.
------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
She was sittin cross-legged on the hood of a ford,
Filin down her nails with an emery board.
Talking to her friends bout people they meet,
And all of the things young girls do.
When she said, You see that boy with the baseball cap?
Id like to spend some time with a boy like that.
Daddy said, Ive seen him at the hardware store,
I think his name is Billy but Im not sure.
As they talked a little while, he passed by.
She smiled at him and he just said hi.
He was thinkin to himself as he walked away.
Man, Id like to find a girl like her someday.
------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
Ill see you guys tomorrow, Chrissy said as the sun began to set and her dad came out of the little store and called her over to go home for the night. Bye.
The whole way home Chrissy couldnt stop thinking about the face that had walked by her earlier. His eyes so piercing and smile so wonderful.
When morning came, Chrissy got ready and went down town for a few things at the hardware store.
Chrissy got everything she was asked to get, filling two bags, leaving her arms full. Chrissy looked up trying to figure out how to open the door when she saw Chris again holding the door open.

Chris breathed out trying to rid himself with nervousness.
Can I help you with these? Can I give you a ride? Can I take you out on a Saturday night?
She didnt have to say what she was feeling inside, he could see the answers shinning in her eyes.
------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
Well she just couldnt stop thinkin bout him,
At the store downtown she saw him again,
She had both hands full, he held open the door.
He said, My name is Billy, Ive seen you before.
Can I help you with these, can I give you a ride,
Can I take you out on a Saturday night?
She didnt have to say what she was feelin inside,
He could see the answer shinning in her eyes.
------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
Chrissy and Chris were always together after that day. They were side by side and heart to heart. Chrissy knew that they had been together for a few years and soon the time would come when he asked her to marry him.
My parents want to have dinner tonight, Chrissy said. Will you join us?
Of course, Chris said. I would be honored.
Later that night when they were all sitting around in the living room, Chris got down on one knee and Chrissy could hear her mother begin to cry as Chris slipped the ring on her finger.
2 years later, Chrissy gave her final push and soon she heard a babys cry.
She had the baby, Chrissy could hear her mother cry out.

Chris worked real hard and put some money down, on a little ole house at the edge of town.
Here it is, Chris said. Our first night in our new house home.
I love you, Chrissy said kissing Chris and then the babys head. Thank you for everything you have done.
Chris shut the lights off and Chrissy was already sleeping. Chris pulled her close and listened to her breath. He couldnt believe that God had made a girl that hed never ever leave.
------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
Well from that day on, couldnt keep them apart,
They were side by side, heart to heart
Momma cried as Billy slipped the ring on her finger,
When the baby was born, she was crying again.
Well he worked real hard and put some money down,
On a little ole house on the edge of town.
That night as he held her, He couldnt believe,
That God had made a girl,
That hed never ever leave.

True Love,

Theyre gonna make it through the hard times,
And walk those lines.
