He took a bottle of iced tea and headed for the couch in the living room. As he started, the phone rang interrupting his concentration. "Hello?" He paused the game. "Joey Fatone," A man asked for. "This is he," Joey said. "I'm Sally's producer and I'm calling because you have been chosen," He said. "The taping is in 2 weeks. You will be sent 1 free 2-way plane ticket Chicago. Crystal will have the same, just a later flight. You will both stay at a fancy hotel for the 4 day trip." "Okay," Joey said. "See you in 2 weeks." "Yep," The man said. "Oh, by the way, you will need to think of 3 things that you would use to symbolize you to Crystal who will be blindfolded. See you later." He hung up. Joey was excited about the whole deal. He had to call work and take the time off, and then he had to finish his game. "Hi, you have reached Crystal and I'm not in right now, but leave your name, number, and a brief message and I will get back to you soon! Thanks!" "Hi my name is Joshua and I'm calling you from the Sally Jesse show. You have been chosen to be a guest on the show in 2 weeks. A single 2-way ticket and hotel accommodations will be provided. I'm not at liberty to tell you what the show will be about, but it's nothing bad. We'll pick you up and see you at the airport in 2 weeks." Crystal walked through the airport gates and looked around half expecting a familiar face. She looked through the sea of people and she caught a sign with her name written on it, 'Crystal D.' She walked up to the man who was holding it. "Are you from the Sally Show?" "Yes and you must be Crystal," He smiled. "That's me," Crystal smiled. "I just have to get my bags." "I already got them," The man said. "Just 2 right? The black suitcase and the blue duffel bag?" "That's all," Crystal said. "Plus my carryon, but I have that." "Let's go then," The man said. "By the way, my name is Vinnie." "Well, where are we going, Vinnie," Crystal asked. "We are going to the hotel right now and tonight you can do anything you want. Tomorrow is the taping at noon? the big moment. Then you will be flown out 3 days after," Vinnie said. "Here is our limo." "Hi Sally," Crystal said walking out on the stage to a good-sized audience' applause and a welcoming seat. "How are you, Crystal," Sally asked. Crystal shook her head. "You have no idea why you are here, right," Sally asked. "No, I have no idea and it's been eating at me since I found out," Crystal said. "Well you are about to find out?" Sally said. "The name of the show is, 'I Dig You, But You Don't Know It.' Do you have any idea who has brought you here?" Many thoughts were running through her head. "No," Crystal answered. "I have no idea who." "Well the man who brought you here is very handsome and sweet and he has put together 3 clues to help you figure out who brought you here," Sally said. "Here is a blindfold? put it on and we will begin." Crystal slipped on the silky blindfold and waited anxiously. "Okay, Crystal," You can't see right?" "Right," She answered. "Okay then," Sally said. "We have 3 clues. The first one is an audio clip." Crystal listened as she heard a beep? maybe from a computer or a cash register. "Hold out your hand for the second one," Sally said as she handed Crystal a plastic bag. She watched as she rubbed the plastic between her thumb and first finger. "Here is your last and final clue." Crystal gripped a small, thin, object. She could tell it was a flower's stem and the thorns had been ripped off so that she didn't get injured. She brought it up to her noes and inhaled. It was the all too familiar flower for her, a rose. "Do you know who brought you here yet," Sally asked. "I have an idea," Crystal said. "But, I can't be 100 percent sure." "Well, keep the blindfold on and we will bring out our special guest," Sally said. "Come on out!" Joey tiptoed out on stage to a silent audience. Sally had asked everybody to keep quite. He saw Crystal dressed in a casual suit. It was a white tee shirt as a top and dark blue bottoms that were pants. She had her curls pulled back into a small ponytail and it was clipped with a barrette. He walked over and kneeled down in front of her without touching her. "Ready," Sally whispered to Joey. He shook his head. "Crystal," Sally began. "Why don't you take off those blindfolds?" Crystal obeyed and her eyes fluttered open to see the man she had thought all along. A smile quickly spread across her face and her eyes glazed over with tears of joy. "Is this who you were thinking," Sally asked. "Surprise, sweetie," Joey said hugging her and then getting off his knee and sitting next to her on the love seat. "Why don't you talk to her, Joe," Sally said. "Crystal," Joey began taking her hand. "I want you to be my girlfriend. Would you?" "Yeah," Crystal said crying a little harder. - - - - - * - - - - - 1 Year Later - - - - - * - - - - - "Last year we did a show about secret crushes and here were the people who were on the show," Sally said. "Joey, come on baby," Crystal called. "The show is coming on!" Joey ran in from the kitchen of his old house that was now Crystal's and his. He jumped onto the new couch and held Crystal's hand. "? The last couple, on the other hand, turned out for the best. Crystal and Joey are now married," Sally said as a picture of the wedding came on. "They are happily in love. We even got a letter from Joey saying how happy he was? here is a part." 'Sally, I didn't know how happy a person could be until they were in love with the person the know they are going to spend the rest of their life with. Crystal is my wife, lover, and best friend. She has given me so much and I might never have known any of it if it weren't for you and your show. Thank you for everything? I owe you one!' "Congratulations," Sally said.
