"Daddy! What are you doing?" Calli asked innocently. "Nothing sweetie... sit back in your seat..." He replied as he heard the end of the song, he could feel Missi's breath on his neck. It was so real to him, but no matter how many times he could feel her there... he'd turn around and she wouldn't be. "Look, I'm sorry you don't have a mommy Tyler," Justin began, "But it isn't my fault... your mother loved you and she wanted me to take care of you. I'm doing my best and... you just hate me..." He began to sound as though he was a child also, perhaps it was his lack of adult interaction or maybe... it was just he missed his wife like crazy. "Dad, I'm sorry..." Tyler said as he unbuckled his seatbelt and climbed up front. "TYLER!" Justin screamed, wanting the child to get back in his seat. "Dad," He tried to talk again. "Tyler, we're going to get a ticket if you don't get back in your seat!" The truth was, he didn't mind Tyler coming up next to him... he just didn't want him to see how he was crying. "It's okay to cry," Tyler said as he leaned over to give him a hug, "I'm sorry..." "I'm not mad at you Ty, just get back in your seat." Justin said as he wiped his tears. It was silent until they pulled into their driveway and Justin helped them out of the car. "Why are you crying Daddy?" Calli asked another one of her innocent questions. Her eyes sparkled the same exact way Missi's always had... "I'm just sad, Calli, it'll be okay, I promise." He replied. "Can we please go back and visit Mom now?" Tyler asked. "Yeah, we can..." It was a short ride now that there was much less hostility. They took the same familiar walk to her grave, only this time, they made it there. Justin just stood there, watching those beautiful children... he couldn't believe he had helped bring those children here... he did it, it was so amazing... The children knealed in front of Missi's grave and thought out their next move... but Justin, he had something better to do... he could remember... "UH! What are you doing?" Missi screamed. "I'm making you comfortable!" Justin yelled as he put the pillow under herfeet. "I'm in labor damnit! I need to go to a hospital! AH!!!!!!!!!!" She began to scream again as the contractions came, she grabbed his hand and squeezed with all she had. "OH... MY... GOD!!!!! I'm sorry, I'm sorry, I'm sorry!!!!! Please have mercy!" He yelled as the tears flooded his eyes. "What do you want me to do?" He asked attentively. "Okay, here is the deal... get in the driver's seat, put the key in the ignition, turn, and get me the fuck to a hospital you idiot! Your damn curls are too tight again!" "Ahhh, I love you too baby," He said with a smile as he started the car. Justin smiled widely as he got her into her wheelchair, carting her to the check in desk. He got her admitted and she was taken to her room quickly, he went to get a soda and thought he might've lost his way but he could hear her screaming how much she hated him all the way down the hall. "I CANNOT believe you did this to me! I thought you loved me!" She screamed. "I do baby, remember, you wanted a baby?" He asked with a nervous smile. "So I made a mistake! People make mistakes!" "Alright, Mrs. Timberlake we need you to push." The doctor instructed, she grabbed Justin's hand and he clamped down as she began to push. "You're doing so good Missi." Justin smiled and ignored the pulsing pain in his right hand. "JUSTIIIIIIIIINNNNN! IIIIIII HAAAAATTEEEEEEE YOOOOOUUUUUUUU!" She screamed as he continued coaching her. "Keep on with your breathing baby," He reminded. "Just one more push!" The doctor called out. She pushed with all her might and finally the baby was in the doctor's hands. Justin didn't know who was screaming now, there was so much screaming... "You don't REALLY hate me, do you?" Justin gave another nervous smile as the doctor handed Missi their son. "God, he's beautiful..." Justin gasped. "He looks just like you Justin... same eyes, same chin, everything..." Missi said with a smile, "And how could I hate you... look at him?" "Naw, he's beautiful like his mother." He smiled as the baby yawned. "Poor little guy must be exhausted after all that." Missi commented. "Yeah, so should you..." Justin replied as he kissed her dampened forehead, "What do we name him?" "Justin Tyler..." she replied with a smile. "Justin Tyler, what ARE you doing?" Calli said with her hands on her hips. God did she look like her mother... "I'm picking flowers for my mother, what does it look like blondie?" Hereplied. "Stop being so witty and behave Tyler." Justin bursted in. "Happy Brithday Mommy." Calli and Tyler said together as they sat on the cool ground."We love you." They continued. "Dad, are you gonna say anything?" Tyler inquired. "Yeah, Dad, oh! I know! Tell us the story!" Calli said excitably. "Yeah! Tell us the story!" Tyler joined in. "It was a cold Autumn day..." Justin began as he began to invision everything in his head. |
