ARTICLE II �THE EXECUTIVE BRANCH

Section 1.0 Make Up
1.1 The Executive Branch of the SGA shall consist of the President, the Vice-President, and the Treasurer.
1.2 The qualifications necessary for the Executive members shall be specified in the SGA Election Code.

Section 2.0 Powers and Duties
2.1 The powers and duties of the President shall be as follows:
2.1.1 To make all appointments to the SGA with approval of the Senate.
2.1.2 To serve as the official representative of the SGA.
2.1.3 To veto any legislation he or she feels will not be in the best interest of the Student Body.
2.1.4 To call special meetings of the Student Senate when he or she deems it necessary.
2.1.5 To accept all resignations from any SGA officer, senator, or department commissioner.
2.1.6 To establish any committees he or she deems necessary with the approval of the Senat.
2.1.7 To appoint an Administrative Assistant who shall serve as recording secretary during all official SGA meetings and aid the executive officers in carrying out their duties. This Administrative Assistant cannot be either a senator or an executive officer.
2.2 The powers and duties of the Vice-President shall be as follows:
2.2.1 To oversee all Student Body elections.
2.2.2 To oversee all departments of the SGA.
2.2.3 To fulfill the duties of the President when he or she is unable to do so.
2.2.4 To preside over SGA meetings when the Speaker of the Senate is unable to do so.
2.3 The powers and duties of the Treasurer shall be as follows:
2.3.1 To serve as Commissioner of the Department of Finance.
2.3.2 To pay out money as appropriated by the Student Senate.
2.3.3 To prepare and present a typed report of the expenditures and financial standing of the SGA to the Student Senate the first and third meetings of each month during the Fall and Spring Semester.
2.3.4 To approve any expenditures under $100.
2.4 Failure of an executive officer to perform stated duties shall be considered malfeasance of office.

Section 3.0 Succession
3.1 The Order of Succession shall be as follows:
3.1.1 President
3.1.2 Vice-President
3.1.3 Speaker of the Senate
3.2 Should it be necessary to go beyond the order as mentioned here, the Senate will appoint, with the
approval of two-thirds vote of the entire Senate, the interim President until such time as an election can
be held as defined by the SGA election code.
