| Article V - Internal Affairs Section 1 - Purpose 1.1 The general purpose of the Department of Internal Affairs shall be to: 1.1.1 Assist the SGA Vice-President and Speaker of the Senate in carrying out their duties. 1.1.2 Review and recommend changes in the SGA Constitution and By-laws as needed. 1.1.2.1 Provide revised Senate rules that will govern all Student Government Association meetings for the semester at the first meeting of each semester. 1.1.3 To assure that all Senators are following the Senate rules and promptly follow proper action should a Senator not follow those rules. 1.1.4 To provide that the Media Board, the Class Council of Freshmen Representatives, STAT the Trust Fund Committee and the Student Supreme Court receive copies of the Student Government Association Constitution and By-laws at the beginning of each semester, or a copy of the amendments as they are approved each semester. 1.1.5 To perform any other pertinent services not mentioned herein. Section 2 - Standing Committees 2.1 The standing committees under the Department of Internal Affairs shall be the Election Board, the Legislation Committee, and the Class Council Advisory Committee. 2.1.1 The Election Board shall be regulated according to the election code as outlined in Article VIII of the By-laws. 2.1.2 The Legislation Committee shall investigate the progress of passed written legislation from previous SGA meetings and assure that action is being taken upon said legislation. 2.1.3 The Class Council Advisory Committee shall serve to aid the Class Council of Freshmen Representatives in all endeavors and offer advice to those participants and to perform any other pertinent services not mentioned herein. |
