Set up a meeting or phone conference to discuss meal planning & activity plans. You need to plan for breakfast, lunch, dinner on Saturday & breakfast Sunday morning. Plus you should have items to make a P,B. & J. if you have fussy eaters. All scouts should bring a small snack to share (1 doz. Or 1 bag of something), You should have Bug Juice and water available for drinking all weekend. Bring store-bought water in gallon jugs if you dont like the taste of well water for drinking & cooking. You will also need Paper products (napkins, plates for snack, cups, toilet paper, paper towel, Ziploc & garbage bags). Breakfast on Sunday should be kept simple so that the overall cabin clean-up is easier. You should plan ______(quanity) of Crafts or Activities per person. If you would like a hike with the naturalist it is $20.00 per hour & reservations have to be made A.S.A.P. & definitely not later than 10 days prior to camp (Mar. 12) You should plan one craft / activity for Friday night , one craft / activity for Saturday morning, and have a back-up plan for what to do if you have excess time & nothing to do. (Usually a very simple craft that you may or may not get to. Be flexible.) Plan something from 12:00 noon until 5:00 p.m. then focus attention on dinner on Saturday Night. Try not to plan things for Sunday due to heavy workload of cleaning & packing. Your Food, Crafts & Activities should be theme related. This adds flavor & intrest to the campout. You can use anything to decorate your cabin or site but keep in mind, do not use anything that will mar the walls (nails, overly adhesive tape, etc). Use plastic-tac or gentle Masking tape. You will need a Kaper Chart. I have included one on this website. (this person)_______________________ is in charge of making the kaper chart and setting up & naming kaper teams. Your Cabin will need a troop box. A troop box includes kitchen & camping supplies. A list is included on this website. You may not enter the camp until the OPF & First Aider have checked in for your cabin. The OPF (Outdoor Program Facilitator) for your Cabin is:_____________________________________ this person is in charge of Cabin, the Grounds, and overseeing all operations. Their certification allows / does not allow them to start a campfire at this cabin. They are planning to arrive at _________p.m. Friday. The First - Aider for your cabin is ____________________________________ this person should have knowledge of where all health forms are kept and is the only person allowed to keep a vehicle backed-in at the Troop House. (Others are allowed only to drop off supplies and must park backed-in in the main parking lot.) This person is in charge of bringing their First Aid Kit & handling all medical related incidents. They are planning to arrive at ___________ p.m. on Friday. Your health forms should accompany your girls to their horseback riding session. Send them in a manila envelope with the adult in charge of taking them to their class. You may need to make up an extra envelope for girls who are going to a different session. Also on Saturday night, you should prompt your girls to begin to get their things together in one place. This makes packing so much easier in the morning. The ranger will let you know what time they will inspect your cabin on Sunday Morning. NO ONE LEAVES UNTIL ALL THE CLEANING & PACKING IS FINISHED. It is the Girl Scout way to leave an area cleaner than the way you found it. The ranger will not release you from camp until they are satisfied with the cabins appearance. All Left-over food is evenly divided between the adults in each cabin. Be courteous. You may want to stop for dinner on Friday or lunch Sunday on the way home. This is decided by troop & funds for this come out of your troop budget or have the parents send money with the campers. You may also decide to have the parents send a packed lunch for the girls for Friday. |
