What are S.W.A.P.S?
S.W.A.P.S.  are Special Whatchamacallit's Affectionatly Pinned Somewhere.  They are a small craft made by each peson at a campout or other event.  Each person should make between 30 to 50 tiny crafts with pins on them that are all alike.  They bring their items to the event and use them as a meeting and greeting gift.  You will come home with 30-50 diffrent S.W.A.P.S.  from other people.

A   S.W.A.P.  can be made of practically anything!!  Some things to avod though are oversized items bigger than 2" or anything without a pin to attach it.  Of course nothing should be used that is in bad taste.  In fact the best swaps are brand new ideas that are cute or funny.  They can be made as simply and as cheaply or as intricate and expensive as you would like.  Also, S.W.A.P.S.  should always include your name and troop number.  Your phone number or Email address is optional.

Some things to know about S.W.A.P. ettiquette.  Cheerfully swap with everyone you meet & greet. Never withhold a S.W.A.P.  because you don't like the other persons S.W.A.P.,
or the other person.  Even if the other person has nothing to trade, you should still trade.  It is the Girl Scout way.

Remember, S.W.A.P.P.I.N.G. is a way of meeting people and saying "HI" so whenever you S.W.A.P. you should also S.M.I.L.E.
there is no place like home.....
Here are excellent resource links for swaps and they give you many ideas on how to make your own
back to camping page...
