Clean fire bowl Check firewood supply Make sure outside grounds are neat Empty butt can Clean bathrooms Check toilet paper/ paper towels Sweep floor as needed Spot mop if there are spills Hostesses Get out all the dish bags Set the tables Create a centerpiece for each table Pick out a Grace Check with cooks to see when to announce that the meal is ready. Do they have any special instructions? Announce meal is ready Give special instructions Lead Grace Call kaper groups up for serving Dishwashers Woodies Hostesses Cooks Cooks WASH HANDS! Check menu Get out all needed supplies Discuss timing of menu Set up / prep work Cook the meal Let hostesses know any special instructions Serve food in the chow line. Clean up utensils as you go Soak pots if needed Leave kitchen presentable Dishwashers Before meal, set up trash can Dump bucket, & strainer. Organize how people will come through the dish line. Dishwashers eat meal first. Finish quickly and get ready to wash dishes. Immediately after meal set up sink (or when cooks clear the kitchen) 1 tub hot soapy water to wash 1 tub hot clear water to rinse 1 tub hot water with sanitizer pills added (We are not allowed to use bleach anymore so we use sanitizer tablets at Girl Scout camps these are available from the ranger.) At least 1 person for each job as follows: Dump station Trash Washer Rinser Sanitizer Sorter Director As people come through the line, direct them through each station in an orderly manner Assist them in getting their dishes back to them Tell them to insert their dishes into their dish bag. Direct people to hang their dish bags on rope (see woodies) After you finish doing each person�s dishes, start on the pots & utensils Clean Stove & Counters Hang wet towels to dry on dish bag rope. | Here is a basic Kaper chart for most camping outings. You may want to make modifications based on your personal camping needs. I left the form plain so that prining would be easier. Below the job descriptions, there is one form for a kaper team. You will need 4 of these --1 for each kaper. You can make up a team name to suit your fancy. The way this chart works is that the 4 job descriptions are posted along with 1 team list next to each one. For each meal the team lists are rotated so that each team gets a chance to do each job. |
