Jon manages the Science Hobby ShopTM for retired Mr. McClurkin. Jon is a comedic personality who flubs ordinary things. John's assistant, (or accomplice) is David. Together Jon and David are a comedy of errors; the two stooges. Jon and David sponsor a Science Workshop in the store every Saturday for curious kidsTM.
Doc, is a real, licensed female Veterinarian. She concluded the result of a study that showed a direct correlation between animal abuse and children of abuse. We hope to redirect aggressive behavior through positive example. 'Doc' teaches zoology and doctors live animals in her clinic. Exotic animals, birds and reptiles crate rewarding and educational curiosity. Canines for spceial needs children, visit with their charges. Zoology curators and representitives of organizations make guest appearances as friends, from the neighboring county.
Miss Suyen owns the Book BoxTM, bookstore/library. Miss Suyen introduces children to her language, notable authors and far away places through books. Suyen created a reading circle within the library named The Bee HiveTM. Every Wednesday after school, curious kidsTM meet in The Bee HiveTM to share stories in an open forum to discuss books they've read.
Mario, a journalist, returns to NONESUCH PLACETM to write for the NSPTM Gazette. Mario teaches computer/Internet and story writing skills. Mario is learning his father's native language (Spanish) from Mr. Torres. Children lend their support in helping Mario as he struggles with a second language.
Miss Joy, a certified Horticulturalist/Entomologist teaches Earth Health. Curious kidsTM learn to make natural food (compost) for the soil, learn earth health habits and study creature features so they can identify beneficial bugs, birds and butterflies.
Mr. Torres, the bilingual Spanish and Science teacher, is a master of sound effects. Mr. Torres teaches Spanish and makes science interesting and fun. Curious kidsTM bring frogs, insects, worms and anything that will fit under the miracle microscope for a close up look.
