I have a very limited supply of photos of my step-father, Tom. He entered my life quite suddenly, engaged to my mother before the end of a previous marriage. He quite unexpectedly became the more important member of my mother's life, and for this, I resented him. I treated him poorly, and never attempted at friendship. I have matured, and have come to realize what a wonderful person I missed knowing. I hope that my acts were not responsible for the taking of your own life.
