Course: A 24 mile loop on Looney, Turlock, Cox Ferry, Keyes, Bledsoe, and Monte Vista Roads.
Course Description: This course is in the same area as the Snelling road race and in fact uses at least one of the same roads. Expect a course that has all of the same qualities as the Snelling road course.
Road Surface: Expect some sections of rough pavement.
Gearing: 12x21
Facilities: Expect Porta Cans, but not much else out there in the farm lands.
Weather: Spring in the central valley usually means a wind from the north.
Feeding: Probably not much of a factor except for the 3's and Pro/1/2's (122 miles!). I don't know where the feed will be though.
Rules Specific to this race: Full road closure. You've got to love it!
Race Advice: I didn't do this race last year. From what I know of the area and the course I would expect similar tactics and difficulties as at the Snelling Road Race. Be especially watchful of the wind direction and make sure to always position yourself to get the maximum shelter from the wind.
Lodging: The best place to stay would probably be Merced, especially with a criterium the next day in Merced.
