Dalton Road Race

Course:

Course Description: The loop is basically flat with a few rolling hills. A couple of those rollers are kind of steep, but aren't hard enough to break the field up.

Distances:

Road Surface: The roads range from pretty nice country roads to rough pavement, to a nasty rutted dirt road.

Gearing: A 12x21 will be fine.

Facilities: Expect porta cans at the parking area and not much else. If you need it, you better bring it.

Weather: Should be nice.

Feeding: The feed zone is on a hill just after the start/finish line.

Rules Specific to this race:

Race Advice: Definitely STAY UP FRONT before and during the dirt road section. Last year it was NASTY! If the road is dry it will be very dusty and a little harder to see. The pack usually goes through the dirt section pretty fast because everybody wants to be at the front.

Just like Copperopolis you should use sturdy water bottle cages or you'll end up thirsty after your bottles eject on the dirt section.

Specific advice for women racers: N/A
