If'n Your Snoozen.... Your Loosen!
2006 CHRISTMAS PARTY:
The chapter Christmas Party on Dec. 09 was a major success thanks to the efforts of Big Dan and Marie. The party was held in Petit Rocher at the Acadian Motel where everything was self-contained except for the washrooms. The place was packed! There were 69 people in attendance for the Turkey and Ham buffet.

As in previous years the HOG Buck auction was a big hit. Thanks to JH Stewart's generosity a lot of members were able to take home some really great gifts. Tim S. took over for Director John as auctioneer while John took a break to knock back a couple of cold ones to restore his voice. Thanks Tim, you did a great job! A lot of members thought you finally ound your calling.

After the auction the DJ played a lot of great music along with a fantastic video show. By midnight the crowd had thinned down to about 18 people. At 3:00 AM there were only 6 of the more hardy members still ready to party down. Hey you know I'm still trying to get caught up on the sleep I lost! Ho Ho Ho!
2005 DEALER RUN:
The Dealer Run and Appreciation day were held on the same day along with the chapter meeting. All three events were at the sponsoring dealership in Miramichi. A few photos of the event are shown below. The Dealer Run and Appreciation Day will be held as two separate events in 2006. The Dealer Run will be in May and the Appreciation Day in October.

MULTI-CHAPTER POKER RUN:
The Northshore Chapter hosted the Multi-Chapter Poker Run on Saturday, August 18. The weather started out great then black thunder clouds rolled in threatening to dampen everyone's spirits. But five minutes later the sun reappeared. It was like that all day and as the rain Gods would have it Poker Run riders did get wet. Although the rain fell lightly and was short lived it was enough to get the bikes scummy and soak your lower pantlegs. So what right! There weren't any fair weather riders among this group. Several members rode in from the Fredericton, Moncton and Saint John Chapters to meet and ride with the Northshore chapter members. There were twenty-two riders registered and fifteen motorcycles in total.

J.H. Stewart Ltd. sponsored the event by donating many prizes and offering great in-store specials for all H.O.G. members. There were also prizes donated by Toys For Big Boys and Eldridges Harley-Davidson. A sincere thank you to Jr. and Corrine and the other dealers for their generous support. The Poker Run started from JH Stewart's store at 12:00 noon as planned. Before leaving on the run registered participants were treated to their choice of a free barbequed burger, dog or sausage compliments of Jr. and Corrine Stewart.

In addition to mowing the side lot, JH Stewart's, brought in porta-potties, a hand wash station and a bandstand for the Poker Run.There was free weekend camping offered to any H.O.G. member who wanted to set up a tent or bring their pop up M/C tent trailer. JH Stewart's even extended their store hours to 5:00 PM to accommodate the members..

The Poker Run arrived back at the dealership at 4:00 PM where the hands were tallied and the winners were announced. Terry Taylor had the best hand with three ladies and received the top prize of $100.00. John Kelly from the Fredericton Chapter won $60.00 for second place and our very own Garry Doucet received $60.00 for having the third best hand. Norma Belliveau from the Saint John Chapter won the 50/50 draw valued at $36.00. Unfortunately the bike games that were scheduled had to be cancelled.

The weather cleared up nicely so after all the prizes were given out members broke out the lawn chairs and coolers and enjoyed 3 solid hours of live blues music provided by "The Johnny Newman Blues Band" compliments of our sponsoring dealer JH Stewart Ltd.. After the sun set a "tres bonne feu" or as one would say en anglais a roaring good bon fire was lit. Members sat around bending their arms and throwing logs on the fire until 1:30 AM. All in all it was a great day and looking back the only regret is that there were so many more H.O.G. members who could have had a great time just like the rest of us did if only they had attended. Too bad, so sad you missed a great party! Maybe next time eh?
