The Cadet Display Team is made up of Sea, Army and Air cadets from across the province of Nova Scotia and performs annually in the Nova Scotia International Tattoo. Cadets have been participants and performers in the Tattoo since 1979. In those 25 years, cadets have filled many roles including flag bearers, Teddy bears, historical soldiers, torch bearers, sailors, and robots. Cadets have also carried out protocol duties, and participated in various Tattoo related Festival events and Canada Day Parades. In any given year, cadets appear in as many as six scenes in the Tattoo. In recognition of the dedication and hard work of these fine young people, the Cadet Display Team was created in 1995 to give the cadets a venue to demonstrate the skills and discipline they possess. Since that time they have performed a Sunset Ceremony, two naval displays, a Precision Drill Sequence, two Toy Soldier displays, and a mythical fantasy display. Ranging in ages 12 to 18, these cadets attend practices from February to May and continue to attend practices until the Tattoo opens in June. During the school break in March an intensive training camp is held to put the Display Team scene together.
