General Background

 

Under the decision taken by Regional Assessment Team (RAT) chaired by Regional Health Director (RD) on 24 June at RHD Dhankuta; Tools development workshop has been conducted on 29th Ashar to 2 Shrawan in Biratnagar.

Outcomes of the meeting/workshop

On the 13 July 2003, the members of the Taskforce assembled at Biratnagar. The workshop continued from 13 July to 17 July. Everyday the activities started at 9 o'clock in the morning and continued up to 6 o'clock in the evening. The following are the main outcomes of the workshop.

2.      Information collection tools for PHC/HP/SHP (HF-2)

3.      Information collection tools for drug retailers (HF- 3)

4.      Information collection tools for private clinics/ nursing home (HF-4)

5.      Information collection tools for NGOs (SP-1)

6.      Information collection tools for CBOs (SP-2)

7.      Household survey form (HH-1)

8.      FGD guide for community people - males/females (FGD-1)

9.      FGD guide for traditional healers (FGD-2)

10.  FGD guide for local committee members (FGD-3)

11.  FGD guide for FCHVs/TBAs (FGD-4)

12.  PRA guide for district site mapping (PRA-1)

13.  PRA guide for village mapping (PRA-1)

 Recommendations

 

The Taskforce recommends that:

a.       The developed tools should be used for minimum basis for the assessment.

b.      The final tools should be reviewed at the district workshop.

c.       Tools should be uniform for general and specific health components in different district.

  1. The sample size should be based on the need of fulfilling the validity of statistical comparison.
